Ok, I am looking for some feedback from anybody that may already have either of these power sources on their homestead or even regular home. I am looking to decide which way to convert my usage of electricity and want some pros and cons. Cost is of course a big reason for going solar or wind with a power solution. But what else should be considered? Perhaps zoning laws if you are not outside the city limits. Are you required to notify the power company if you are adding solar power? Size of the panels based on your need, and what battery storage method to use. I am in South Florida so we have lots of days of sun per year, but we also have hurricanes to worry about. Will homeowners insure cover them if damaged? In the city limits wind turbines may be frowned upon, and most HOAs probably have restrictions. But looking to see if anybody knows the law and what can be enforced?
