Soliloquy (an act of speaking one's thoughts aloud when by oneself or regardless of any hearers) is a weekly blog as the thoughts and takeaway or highlights of the week of my life throughout the year 2018. I aim to look back at these entries in the future as a reference of how I might change in the way I think, write, express and especially grow. I have been trying out this diet I've been always wanting to take. Ketogenic diet. Yes, i've never felt this great in a year!
Ketogenic is basically eating so much fat and no carbohydrates (especially sugar) that you force your body and brain to burn fat for energy. Like i said.... "Basically". I felt that I've delved deep enough into the Keto Diet rabbit hole that I'm comfortable to experiment with this diet.
Also while I'm at it I've also incorperated intermittent fasting since I'm basically doing it for a while already. Unless it's socially necessary, I find that I have no problem subsisting on 1 large meal a day, usually in the mid afternoon. I don't know about you guys but I've worn enough tinfoil hat to not believe the "3 meal a day / breakfast is the most bla bla" norm everyone have seem to abide by without question. Archeological findings have shown that our hunter-gatherer ancestors have no problem eating only when there is abundance of food and still maintain a healthy life, ie.. So healthy that todays Olympic track runners have nothing on them. Bone analysis tells that while our cavemen forbears may not have gyms, their bodies are ABSOLUTELY ripped.
I don't need to be ripped though.. Just buff enough that I look appealing. Very appealing...😏😏
It's just the start, I haven't even felt Keto Flu so who knows what will happen next. I've eaten literally 3 meals since the the start of the diet and of course I'm kind enough to show you the meals..
Day 1 - Medium Lamb shoulder, 6 piece of thin Bacon, 2 eggs
Day 2 - Chicken pieces, Pork balls, 2 scrambled eggs with cheese and a side of fish from a can
Day 3 - Broccoli, Cherry tomato, 3 scrambled eggs with chess and 5 piece of thin bacon

On another note, Chinese New Year has been very kind to me so far! I did said that I wont be visiting friends during this year's Chinese New Year due to something my family have to observe this year after my father's death.. But wow did I manage to haul big even without going to friends!!
Mostly small notes though.. I WISH they're all packed with fiats i can buy a whole steem outright.. hahaha.. The "last" day of Chinese New Year, or rather the 15th of the first month on the Lunar Calendar, will happen on the 2nd of March. Literally a few days from this post. To be honest, it's something I dread.. How would I control my discipline when I'm faced with all the tasty high carb food!!


I'm still taking my sweet time to read Professor Yuval Noah Harrari's Sapience. I must say... It's still mind blowing.. Hope I have what it takes to distill my takeaway of the read. I can say it's changed my mind even though I'm yet to go halfway through it.
Well, with social media gone from my phone (I'm still on the platforms, but only via laptop) I do find it somewhat liberating. Nothing to scroll on my phone 3am in the night when there's nothing on the phone. That has to be good news.

My boss highly recommends people esp those with diabetes to take ketogenic diet instead of the standard one according to food pyramid. Its my first time hearing this word 'keto flu', didnt aware of it before! By the way, your keto meals are so tempting!
