History of University
The official date of its opening is December 3, 1865. True, then it was called quite differently: "Petrovskaya Agricultural and Forestry Academy." The university was opened for the study of agricultural sciences and the development of this industry in the economy of tsarist Russia, which at that time was an agrarian country. Educated agronomists, land managers, livestock breeders were needed, and the academy became the only place where one could get the most advanced and unique knowledge in these areas.
