It doesn't have to be alive to be a part of the cycle of #life. The location of this guy and his condition has baffled me a bit. This wasn't a free range area and other than the misplaced limb, it didn't look like it had been eaten.
I came across this guy while #hiking in the far Southwestern corner of #Wyoming. I always find it interesting to study things like this to see if I can get a mental picture of what happened, but in this instance I could see nothing conclusive, so chalked it up as a natural death.

Its a Pronghorn Antelope
Ah, you are probably right. I had to look it up and it explains why I could think it might be a sheep.
BushcraftPhotography I'm glad I was able to identify the carcass.

could be, but there were no claw or teeth marks on the bones.
BushcraftPhotography The Chupacabra is a legendary creature that is said to inhabit parts of the Americas and attack and drink the blood of livestock, particularly goats. The name "Chupacabra" is Spanish for "goat-sucker." The creature is described as having spines or quills running down its back, and has been reported to have a pronounced jaw and fangs. Some believe it to be a type of wild animal, while others believe it to be a genetic experiment gone wrong. However, there is no scientific evidence to support the existence of such creature, and most sightings and evidence can be explained as known animals such as wild dogs or coyotes with mange, a skin disease that causes hair loss.
Goat?
Yes or a sheep.
