Day 17

in #south9 years ago (edited)

Today I got up at 0600 (like usual), had some breakfast, used the internet, re-read through the notes from yesterday and then started the first aid again at 0800. Just before it started a frog fell out of the tree into the pool, it was followed quickly by a snake – how exciting! First aid went through until 1100, it was slightly more fun this morning, we had to put someone on a spinal board and then move them. We actually put Katie on the 4 x 4 and went for a drive. Ben drove extra fast just to check we were looking after her properly! We also had to rescue a drowning person from the pool.

Brunch today was fried chicken, pasta salad and bean salad – pretty yummy. We also had to sign some forms to do with FGASA and rifles.

After brunch it was straight back to first aid, we had a few practical assessments (in our groups) and then a written test which lasted for about an hour.

After that we were free for the day! I went for a walk with Rachel, Jess and Tanza. We saw some cool tracks again and insects of course.

Then it was time for dinner, some sort of beef stew with rice, but no salad! We think that Thursday is food delivery day and that today we were just finishing off everything that was left!

I went and used the internet for a bit and then it was time for bed – ready for an early start tomorrow. Walking back to my hut from the classroom, the sunset was stunning, a bright orange-red sky!
