Colonization of the moon had become 'more' possible when water was found on the moon, as it is one of the basic requirements for human habitation.
But we have been reading about the natural bounties the moon could afford in terms of natural resources like exotic and expensive metals like gold etc. But now it seems like mining on the moon might be a real possibility in the future, if we are to believe NASA.
One of the hurdles to such an enterprise has been the politics on earth! But last week politics took a back seat when President Trump of the US signed an executive order allowing the mining of the moon.
On earth, geo-politics of greed and profit has been the norm, where countries who are bracketed as 'under-developed' have been exploited massively for their natural resources. In fact this greed has even led to the annihilation of indigenous communities in places like the Amazon.
Hopefully this new order, whether possible or not, shall divert this greed onto the moon and we have basic dignity of life for all communities on earth.
Just pray that the 'big' players in the exploitation for profit business now look towards the moon, and people are left to work out their own life on earth!
