Hay quienes se aventuran en la Patagonia en busca del famoso turismo aventura. Argentinos y extranjeros.
Hay otros que lo hacen siguiendo los itinerarios que marcan los depliants y folletos turísticos de las lugares más conocidos (Villa La Angostura, Perito Moreno, Nahuel Huapi, la Ruta de los 7 Lagos y la lista continúa).
Sería (casi) interminable. La Patagonia no solo es inmensa. Es inmenso su patrimonio y legado cultural y turístico.
Y existen muchos de estos lugares no tan conocidos al público que merecen la pena de ser recordados.
Hace un par de días vi en este portal de Facebook una serie de fotos mostrando el Bosque Tallado cubierto de nieve dándole a algunas estatuas un aspecto verdaderamente alegórico y mágico (y de él saqué la foto)
Y me hizo recordar el viaje que había hecho hace un par de años a El Bolsón para visitar viejos amigos.
En esa oportunidad tuve la ocasión de conocer este lugar verdaderamente increíble, tan poco promocionado a nivel nacional, y sin embargo tan visitado por artistas (sobre todo de la madera) de todo el mundo.
There are those who venture into Patagonia in search of the famous adventure tourism. Argentines and foreigners.
There are others who do it following the itineraries marked by the depliants and tourist brochures of the best known places (Villa La Angostura, Perito Moreno, Nahuel Huapi, the Route of the 7 Lakes and the list continues).
It would be (almost) endless. Patagonia is not only immense. Its heritage and cultural and tourist legacy is immense.
And there are many of these places not so well known to the public that are worth remembering.
A couple of days ago I saw [on this Facebook portal] (https://www.facebook.com/elbolsonturismo/) a series of photos showing the Carved Forest covered in snow giving some statues a truly allegorical and magical aspect (y de él saqué la imagen)
And it reminded me of the trip I had made a couple of years ago to El Bolsón to visit old friends.
On that occasion I had the opportunity to get to know this truly incredible place, so little promoted at the national level, and yet so visited by artists (especially wood) from all over the world.
Cómo llegar al Bosque Tallado. / How to get to the Carved Forest.
Llegar a este lugar mágico y encantador es mucho más fácil de lo que se piensa. No hacen falta ni mapas ni navegadores satelitales.
Se encuentra a muy pocos kms de El Bolsón, (exactamente 13 km) a 1500 metros sobre el nivel del mar en una de las laderas del cerro Piltriquitron, todo un emblema, un símbolo para los habitantes de El Bolsón. Dicen que hasta emana una especial fuente de energía.
Para llegar hasta él se debe tomar el camino de montaña que, saliendo desde la ruta 258 conduce a la plataforma del cerro Piltriquitrón. Hay carteles que indican el desvío.
Al final del serpenteante camino de ripio se llega a un gran estacionamiento donde se debe dejar el vehículo.
Después de una hora de caminata, dependiendo del ritmo de marcha, se llega al Bosque Tallado.
Getting to this magical and charming place is much easier than you think. No need for maps or satellite navigators.
It is located a few kms from El Bolsón, (exactly 13 km) at 1500 meters above sea level on one of the slopes of the Piltriquitron hill, an emblem, a symbol for the inhabitants of El Bolsón. They say that it even emanates a special source of energy.
To get there, you must take the mountain road that, leaving from Route 258, leads to the platform of Cerro Piltriquitrón. There are signs indicating the detour.
At the end of the winding gravel road you reach a large parking lot where you must leave the vehicle.
After an hour of walking, depending on the pace of the march, you will reach the Carved Forest.
Un lugar mágico nacido de las cenizas de un devastador incendio. /
A magical place born from the ashes of a devastating fire.
Después de un devastador incendio en el año 1982 que destruyó parte del bosque, un grupo de artistas sintió que también, desde la cenizas como el ave fénix, podía nacer algo nuevo. Y así nació el Bosque Tallado.
Con la iniciativa de un grupo de artistas que recuperaron los troncos de lenga que se habían salvado para darle forma a 31 estatuas.
A medida que íbamos avanzando sentíamos que estábamos en presencia de algo único. Un hecho cultural sin antecedentes. Donde antes predominaba la muerte ahora renacía la vida. Así de simple.
Troncos quebrados y tirados en el suelo adquirían vida propia. Tenían un significado y lo representaban perfectamente a través de esculturas forjadas a fuerza de cinceles, formones y hasta motosierras.
Por ejemplo el tronco de lenga bautizado“Ypuche” por Jorge Calderón que representa el espíritu que defiende el bosque.
O la vista panorámica del Valle Nuevo.
O la Casa Rústica. O tantos otros. Como la Serpiente Emplumada o la Pachamama.
No importa el cansacio después de haber hecho la caminata y haber recorrido el Bosque Tallado. El esfuerzo bien vale la pena para ver un lugar único en el país.
After a devastating fire in 1982 that destroyed part of the forest, a group of artists felt that, from the ashes like the phoenix, something new could also be born. And so the Carved Forest was born.
With the initiative of a group of artists who recovered the lenga trunks that had been saved to shape 31 statues.
As we advanced we felt that we were in the presence of something unique. A cultural fact without antecedents. Where death predominated, now life was reborn. It's that simple.
Broken logs lying on the ground took on a life of their own. They had a meaning and represented it perfectly through sculptures forged by chisels, chisels and even chainsaws.
For example the trunk of lenga baptized "Ypuche" by Jorge Calderón who represents the spirit that defends the forest. Or the panoramic view of the New Valley.
Or the Rustic House. Or so many others. Like the Feathered Serpent or the Pachamama.
It does not matter the tiredness after having done the walk and having traveled the Carved Forest. The effort is well worth it to see a unique place in the country.

Es aconsejable llevar agua y empezar la subida a la mañana, o bien al atardecer. Llevar vestimenta liviana y calzado apropiado para realizar caminatas.
Al mediodía, sobre todo en verano, el sol es muy fuerte en la ladera y la fatiga en la caminata se hace sentir en forma mucho más pronunciada.
Seamos respetuosos del medio ambiente y ayudemos a prevenir los incendios que todos los años castigan esta zona. No fumar, ni arrojar colillas, ni encender fuego, ni acampar. Tampoco arrojemos residuos.
Respetar la naturaleza y el medio ambiente que nos rodea es respetarnos a nosotros mismos.
It is advisable to bring water and start the climb in the morning, or at sunset. Wear light clothing and appropriate footwear for hiking.
At noon, especially in summer, the sun is very strong on the slope and fatigue on the walk is felt much more pronounced.
Let's be respectful of the environment and help prevent the fires that punish this area every year. Do not smoke, throw cigarette butts, light a fire, or camp. Let's also not throw waste.
Respecting nature and the environment that surrounds us is respecting ourselves.
