UN VENEZOLANO VISITANDO UNA HERMOSA IGLESIA EN BUENOS AIRES/A VENEZUELAN VISITING A BEAUTIFUL CHURCH IN BUENOS AIRES
Hola, amigos de HIVE. Les comento que el pasado domingo, como habitualmente hago todos los domingos, acudí a una iglesia católica para un momento de recogimiento espiritual, tan necesario en esta época de vida acelerada.
De igual manera, debo decir que visitar lugares de oración, es para mí algo especial. Más allá del tema religioso, me cautiva la arquitectura enfocada al culto, independientemente de si la construcción es católica, musulmana, budista, evangélica, judía o de cualquier otra orientación. Me recreo en las formas, las líneas, el uso de los espacios, y por sobre todo, el sentido profundo de la conexión Dios-Hombre, a través de la obra en su conjunto.
Por lo señalado, en ciudades y pueblos, soy un asiduo visitante de estas edificaciones, no importando mucho si son sencillas o monumentales.
En esta oportunidad, visité la Basílica del Espíritu Santo, templo de la Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, en el famoso barrio de Palermo en Buenos Aires.
Hello, friends of HIVE. I would like to tell you that last Sunday, as I usually do every Sunday, I went to a Catholic church for a moment of spiritual recollection, so necessary in this time of accelerated life.
Likewise, I must say that visiting places of prayer is something special for me. Beyond the religious theme, I am captivated by architecture focused on worship, regardless of whether the building is Catholic, Muslim, Buddhist, Evangelical, Jewish or of any other orientation. I enjoy the forms, the lines, the use of spaces, and above all, the deep sense of the God-Man connection, through the work as a whole.
For this reason, in cities and towns, I am an assiduous visitor of these buildings, no matter if they are simple or monumental.
On this occasion, I visited the Basilica of the Holy Spirit, a temple of the Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupein, the famous Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires..
Desde lejos podemos observar las dos torres, de 54 metros de altura. que se yerguen como queriendo alcanzar el cielo. Al Acercarnos, desde la Plaza Guemez, en honor al general Martín de Guemez, prócer de la independencia Argentina., podemos ver la fachada de esta hermosa iglesia, dejando pasar la vista entre las ramas de los árboles que brindan una sombra generosa.
From afar we can observe the two towers, 54 meters high, that rise as if they wanted to reach the sky. As we approach, from the Plaza Guemez, in honor of General Martin de Guemez, hero of the Argentine independence, we can see the facade of this beautiful church, letting the view pass between the branches of the trees that provide a generous shade.
Es una fachada majestuosa, donde destaca la escultura imponente de Jesús en la cruz, sobre la puerta principal, representando el sacrificio redentor del hijo de Dios Las imágenes que les dejo, dan idea, mejor que todo lo que aquí pueda escribirles.
It is a majestic façade, where the imposing sculpture of Jesus on the cross, over the main door, representing the redemptive sacrifice of the Son of God, stands out.
Lo que si quisiera poder transmitirles, es la impresión que causa, al traspasar la puerta principal, el contemplar el espectáculo del interior de esta iglesia. En verdad es sobrecogedor estar allí, admirar los detalles; las pinturas que adornan paredes y techos; Las esbeltas y solidas columnas; los arcos armoniosamente trazados; y por sobre todo, la visión del altar donde se destacan las esculturas de los 12 apóstoles iluminados por coloridos vitrales en semicírculo.
What I would like to be able to transmit to you, is the impression that it causes, when crossing the main door, to contemplate the spectacle of the interior of this church. It is truly overwhelming to be there, to admire the details; the paintings that adorn walls and ceilings; the slender and solid columns; the harmoniously traced arches; and above all, the vision of the altar where the sculptures of the 12 apostles stand out illuminated by colorful stained glass windows in semicircle.
Mirando Hacia el altar, a la izquierda, me encuentro con la imagen de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, patrona de México, cuyas fiestas se celebran cada 12 de diciembre, y al lado, como complemento, una pintura que representa al indio Diego haciendo patente el milagro de la aparición de la virgen.
Looking towards the altar, on the left, I find the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, patron saint of Mexico, whose festivities are celebrated every December 12, and next to it, as a complement, a painting depicting the Indian Diego making clear the miracle of the apparition of the Virgin.
Por otra parte, mi mayor sorpresa fue cuando, al dirigirme hacia la salida, observo un sencillo cuadro con la imagen de Nuestra Señora de Coromoto, la patrona de mi país de origen, Venezuela. Como podrán entender, me emocionó estar allí, sintiendo tan cerca la presencia de mi patria, aun estando tan lejos. ¡Que hermoso detalle para la comunidad de venezolanos, encontrar en una iglesia emblemática Argentina, a la imagen de nuestra patrona!
On the other hand, my biggest surprise was when, on my way to the exit, I saw a simple picture with the image of Our Lady of Coromoto, the patroness of my country of origin, Venezuela. As you can understand, I was thrilled to be there, feeling so close to the presence of my homeland, even being so far away. What a beautiful detail for the Venezuelan community, to find in an emblematic church in Argentina, the image of our patron saint!
Luego de un rato admirando los muchos detalles que encontramos en los diversos espacios, di por terminada la visita a esta Basílica del Espíritu Santo, centro de la vida litúrgica de Palermo. Me despedí de este emblemático espacio de oración, sabiendo que pronto habría de regresar.
After a while admiring the many details that we found in the various spaces, I ended my visit to this Basilica of the Holy Spirit, the center of the liturgical life of Palermo. I said goodbye to this emblematic place of prayer, knowing that I would soon return.
