El Eo es un río que corre por tierras de Lugo para desembocar en el Mar Cantábrico, formando la Ría de Ribadeo. Mi esposa Brenda y yo, desde que tenemos coche, aprovechamos los fines de semana recorriendo la provincia de Lugo, es sano, divertido y económico. El fin de semana pasado hicimos un recorrido siguiendo el Río Eo y nos detuvimos en un mirador, desde el cual se observa su cauce del entre los árboles. Les comparto algunas fotografías.
Eo is a river that runs through the land of Lugo to flow into the Cantabrian Sea, forming the Ribadeo estuary. My wife Brenda and I, since we have a car, take advantage of the weekends touring the province of Lugo, it's healthy, fun and cheap. This past weekend we took a tour following the Eo River and stopped at a viewpoint, from which you can see the course of the River through the trees. I share some photos.
En esta selfi, mi esposa y yo posamos, capturando el bello fondo de la montaña. Hace calor, pero la brisa de la montaña hace la temperatura agradable y disfrutamos de la vista y del ambiente.
In this selfie, my wife and I pose, capturing the beautiful background of the mountain. It's hot, but the mountain breeze makes the temperature pleasant and we enjoy the view and the atmosphere.
En esta fotografía, tomada por Brenda, estoy posando en el mirador, de espaldas a las esculturas
que allí se encuentran, espalda contra espalda: un monje y un perro (tal vez un lobo) como protegiéndose el uno al otro. El monje mira hacia el Poniente, el perro hacia el Este. Y como llegamos aquí en la tarde, Brenda tuvo que ingeniárselas para lograr buena visibilidad evitando el contraluz.
In this photo, taken by Brenda, I am posing in the gazebo, with my back to the sculptures who are there, back to back: a monk and a dog (perhaps a wolf) as if protecting each other. The monk looks to the West, the dog to the East. And since we got here in the evening, Brenda had to figure out how to get good visibility while avoiding backlight.
A pesar de lo oscura que quedó la fotografía, en esta imagen se aprecia claramente la posición de las dos esculturas. No vimos ninguna leyenda que aclarase que significan, pero obviamente ellas orientan sobre los puntos cardinales y la dirección del río Eo. El monje vestido con el hábito característico de los monjes medievales, tiene sobre el antebrazo izquierdo una paloma, que siempre es símbolo de paz.
Despite the darkness of the photograph, the position of the two sculptures is clearly visible in this image. We did not see any legend that clarified what they mean, but obviously they orient on the cardinal points and the direction of the Eo river. The monk dressed in the characteristic habit of medieval monks, has a dove on his left forearm, which is always a symbol of peace.
Y aquí estoy estirando piernas y brazos, después del largo rato conduciendo. Bailar sobre la hierba es un buen ejercicio para eso y calentar así los músculos para ir escaleras arriba, mientras Brenda, cámara en mano se reía de mí y aprovechaba para enviar selfis a su familia y amistades en Venezuela, mostrándoles lo bien que puede pasarse el rato con poco dinero pero con coche.
And here I am stretching my legs and arms, after a long drive. Dancing on the grass is a good exercise for that and thus warming up the muscles to go upstairs, while Brenda, camera in hand, laughed at me and took the opportunity to send selfies to her family and friends in Venezuela, showing them how much fun the time with little money but with a car.
Hasta aquí llegamos en nuestro amado coche, que aumentó nuestra calidad de vida permitiéndonos paseos como éste. El lugar, Sendeiro da Ponte da Mina, que significa en gallego: camino del puente de la mina.
This far we got in our beloved car, which increased our quality of life by allowing us rides like this. The place, Sendeiro da Ponte da Mina, which means in Galician: road to the mine bridge.
Y ya de regreso, la belleza del ocaso en una fotografía de Brenda, desde nuestro amado carro. Felices y listos para llegar a casa y cenar. El domingo, como casi todos los domingos lo dedicamos a las tareas de casa y a descansar, porque el lunes exige madrugar para cumplir las actividades laborales. Afortunadamente, existe los fines de semana para romper la monotonía.
