Terminó el 2018. Terminó un gran año de películas. Aquí intento hacer un top 10 de mis películas favoritas de este año. El 2018 es probablemente uno de los más variados para mí respecto a la gran calidad de cine. Mi pequeña lista está conformada por siete películas dirigidas por hombres, tres por mujeres, tres son de habla inglesa, el resto son de lugares tan variados como Corea del Sur, Argentina, Polonia y otras partes del mundo.
Mi top 10:
1-LAZZARO FELICE (Dir: Alice Rohrwacher): una película que ofrece una mirada profunda al presente y al pasado. Un film sobre la humanidad. Hermosa de principio a fin. Con una fotografía espectacular de Hélène Louvart, quien rápidamente se está convirtiendo en una de mis directoras de fotografía favoritas.
2-READY PLAYER ONE (Dir: Steven Spielberg): no sé por que razón a veces subestimo a Spielberg. Aquí me demostró que nunca hay que hacerlo. Él es el padre de los blockbusters, y con Ready Player One hizo el mejor del año.
3-ROMA (Dir:Alfonso Cuarón): es técnicamente perfecta y emocionalmente potente. ¿Qué más se puede pedir?.
4-AFTERIMAGE (Dir:Andrzej Wajda): La última película del maestro polaco es una mirada desgarradora sobre otro maestro de las artes, y cómo este vive y lucha contras las dictaduras y el totalitarismo quienes siempre buscan acabar con la libertad artística.
5-L'AMANT D'UN JOUR (Dir: Philippe Garrel): creo que no hay nadie en el cine que retrate las relaciones amorosas de una manera tan honesta como Garrel.
6-FIRST REFORMED (Dir: Paul Schrader): Bergman, Ozu, Dreyer, todos mezclados para formar la mejor película como director de Paul Schrader. La actuación de Ethan Hawke es impresionante. Igual que cada fotograma de esta obra maestra.
7-ZAMA (Dir: Lucrecia Martel): como una novela de Kafka pero en un lugar olvidado de suramerica en el siglo XVII. Al fin y al cabo puro Martel.
8-BURNING (Dir: Lee Chang-dong): cada fragmento se va colocando perfectamente para hacer lo que sería el thriller del año.
9-TRANSIT (Dir: Christian Petzold): una película que lamentablemente demuestra que el presente no es muy distinto al pasado.
10-THE RIDER (Dir: Chloé Zoe): haciendo cada vez más difusa la línea entre la ficción y el documental, la directora crea una reflexión sobre la pasión y una de las historias más conmovedoras de todo el año.
