We are all struggling with some problem in our lives. We have the choice to try and seek help for it, or we may choose to help ourselves. One way to learn to create more love, joy, prosperity, peace, joy and a sense of well being for yourself is to find somebody to be your mentor who has done exactly that. Louise Hay is a good resource. Sadly, Louise passed away this week, and in her honor, I am reading her books. If an area of your life needs a tune up, which starts with changing the thoughts you think about yourself, Louise’s legacy may help you as well.

Bringing awareness

If you have 10 minutes of solitude, Louise tips can bring awareness to the parts of your life that need your loving care and attention. She has affirmations to heal your career, health, self-esteem, relationships/romance, stress, job success, creativity, prosperity and forgiveness.

If you have a friend to work with, it is even better. The friend can read and you can close your eyes and listen, or you can record the affirmations in your own voice if you like and listen to them while sitting in a calm and relaxed way.

The ideal environment is a room that is not too bright. Natural filtered sunlight is fine, or soft lighting for the evening, but nothing too bright or harsh on your eyes. If you are able to close the curtains and doors and gain some privacy so you won’t be interrupted for at least 10 minutes, that is the best way. Turning off your phone and your computer notifications for a few minutes helps to remove distractions so you can focus on your inner self.

Call it retraining your inner critic if you like

In her book “I Can Do It” Louise shared some thoughts to read to yourself to increase self esteem:

These are designed to reverse your negative thoughts about yourself and grow your self confidence. Here are some statements from Louise to help you feel good about yourself:

~ I am totally adequate for all situations

~ I choose to feel good about myself. I am worthy of my own love.

~ I stand on my own two feet. I accept and use my own power.

Once you get the idea, you can start creating your own self-esteem affirming statements that apply specifically to your own individual struggle in your life.

You may want to find some calming background music. There are many types to choose from on Youtube.

A low drum beat that resonates with your heart is a good choice, or something like:

We are no longer at war in the world, but the war is now within ourselves. Happy inner work creating a better world within!
