Thank you for stopping by and for commenting here. To answer your question, of course, that would have actually been the natural way of how we would have completely transcended Communism after 1989. Unfortunately, it wasn't the case and it did not manifest, despite strong popular support for the restoration of monarchy in Romania during the early 1990s. Nowadays, I still think the monarchy would be a great solution for the woefully negative and atrocious political status quo that we have, even though King Michael I passed away several years ago.
Having a constitutional monarchy would mean having a monarch as the leading head of state, which is a symbolic function mostly anyway in the hierarchy/architecture of the state (and has responsibilities tilting more towards external politics, but some very important with respect to internal politics as well), but this way definitely less polarized from a political standpoint and even neutral as it should be.
Unfortunately, it is very less likely and frankly speaking I planned beforehand on immigrating once more anyway. All the best and have a great day!
