Gastritis is one of a health problem in our community. About 10% of people admitted to emergency department
with physica examination findings of tenderness on epigastric area. According to WHO,the incidence of gastritis
in the world, was 22% in england, 31% in China, 14,5% in Japan, 35% in Canada, and 29,5% in French. The
incidence of gastritis around the world varied from 1,8 to 2,1 million of the population each year. The incidence
of gastritis in Southheast asia was estimated around 583.635 of the population each year. The precentage of the
incidence of gastritis in indonesia is approximately 40,8% of population. The incidence of gastritis in some area
in Indonesia is quite high, it reach the prevalence of 274,396 cases of 238,452,952 people. Several risk factors of
gastritis is the use of aspirin or NSAID, Helicobacter pilory infection, a habit of drinking alcohol, smoking, stress
and drinking coffee. Stress and coffee is the extrinsic factor that can cause gastritis. Cortisol hormon production
when someone is under a stressor production can cause a decrease in lymhocytes and can decrease the immune
system to foreign substances that can cause gastritis. Caffeine contained in coffee can stimulate the production
of stomach acid which could lead to gastritis.
