Hello Splinter-warriors, I hope you all doing well.
With the new release of the Splinterlands summoners and monsters, my head is all over the place from trying them out one by one. This addition is an excellent way of making sure that investing in monsters and summoners is not the way this game would be won, you'd have to be a great strategist and have a good deck to make sure you get what you are aiming for.
I shall have to make up a post about the newly added monsters and summoners in a separate post, let's dive into the main theme of today's post.
After days of hunting for the specific rulesets, I have landed this one, and boy am I happy to see that I won it too. I tried to win with the new monsters and summoners from Rebellion and only managed to come out victorious in a few matches. In today’s battle, however, both me and the opponent didn’t use a rebellion summoner. We just went with the good ol’ summoners that gave standard traits in the battles.
Battle Conditions
The mana cap was 23 and the summoners available were Fire, Life, Death, and Dragon. I chose the Death summoners as I still had my faith in the monsters here in the low mana cap.
Battle Rule:
- Weak Magic: Magic hits armour before reducing health.
Battle Details
Let's start from my side.
Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and Magic damage by 1 to all enemy monsters).
Tank: Cursed Windeku(Ability: Thorns).
Melee Attackers: Arachne Thug(Ability: Reach), Silent Sha-vi(Ability: Sneak).
Ranged Attackers: Weirding Warrior(Ability: Shatter).
My strategy was to attack from the front while doing a little nitpicking from the backlines. I assumed my adversary to use a monster with a high armor count so I used Weirding Warrior, a monster with Shatter, which would be the perfect.
My overall damage output was 9, adding in the thorns ability it would be 11 damage per round.
Summoner: Quix the Devious(Ability: Decrease in Speed and Ranged damage by 1 for all enemy monsters*).
Tank: Djinn Chwala(Ability: Thorns).
Melee Attackers: Twighlight Basilisk(Ability: Reach), Whelp Herder(Ability: Opportunity), Uraeus(Ability: Sneak).
Non-attackers: Chaos Agent(No Attacks), Scorcher Fiend(No Ability).
His strategy was to overwhelm my tank with his high and mighty Djinn with his supporting monster Basilisk while his snake and Herder would go at my monster at the back and my weakest link in the middle of my deck.
The overall damage output was 9. The Scorcher was useless as it was at the end of the deck with no extra abilities.
Major Events
My Sha-vi's speed was the highest so it attacks his monster in the back and evens the odds.
His tank's armor was stripped from him thanks to my Warrior.
His Basilisk bit the dust as soon as it took a chunk out from my tank thanks to the thorns ability.
His tank was taken out by the thorns ability as it proceeded to out my tank.
And near the end of the round, to my and his surprise his Uraeus had missed its mark on my Sha-vi.
At the beginning of the round, his Uraeus falls and the only one left was the Herder who soon was taken out by my Thug.
