Summoner

  • I chose the Life deck with General Sloan to increase range attack, as the rule set allowed archers to attack from the front position.

Monsters

  • Shieldbearer - I was expecting lots of melee attack, so picked Shieldbearer because of his armour
  • Brightwing - To repair and resurrect Sheildbearer
  • Prismologist - For that sweet blast damage
  • Pelacor Arbelest - Hits like a truck with his double strike ability
  • Time Mage - The team is not especially fast, so the Time Mage's slow ability is a must
  • Gargoya Scrapper - I was hoping he could do some chip damage since melee monsters could attack from anywhere and if the Sheildbearer went down he could provide a buffer against sneak damage.

My opponent brought Obsidian, lots of magic and double heal. I did not expect this and initially it looked like I had brought a knife to a gun fight. Queen Myacelia also gave the opponent armour - yikes.

I was able to get through the Slipspawn before it could be healed.

The Shieldbearer fell. It was resurrected by Brightwing just in time to take the hit from the Unicorn Mustang. It was finally finished off by Queen Myacelia. but it was too late - Prismologist and Arbelest cleared the field.

Gargoya Scrapper even dealt the final blow to Queen Myacelia :)

Gargoya Scrapper was a useful card in this ruleset, which allowed him to attach from the back. The one melee damage was enough to finish off the Slipspawn before it could be healed which really helped me win the match
