TLDR

-Splinterlands accepts payment in many different forms.
-Many types of external wallets can be linked, including ETH, LTC, BCH and BTC.

When it comes to making digital assets, NFTs and cryptocurrency easy to understand and acceptable to the masses, Splinterlands is making great strides. We're proud to already offer an abundance of different ways to buy Splinterlands Credits, with which you can buy anything in the game. Booster Packs, which always cost $2, will always cost 2000 Credits. So no matter what happens in the crypto charts, you can count on your 1000 Credits always being worth a buck!

Paypal

A huge part of Splinterlands' success has come from the ability to purchase from the site using Paypal, the trusted international payment provider. Fiat money can easily be spent to buy Splinterlands Credits, which can buy Booster Packs, cards on the Monster Market and more.

Cryptocurrencies

This is our bread and butter at Splinterlands. We love cryptocurrency and Non-Fungibles, and we aim to bring as many of them together as possible to promote not only our Splinterlands brand, but blockchain gaming as a whole. These are the different cryptocurrencies that can currently be used to purchase Credits from Splinterlands. For many of these cryptos, you can integrate the wallet of your choice to make purchases smooth and simple, but I will get to that in a moment.

  1. HIVE
  2. STEEM
  3. TRON
  4. BTC
  5. LTC
  6. Ether
  7. WAX
  8. Steem Dollars
  9. Hive Dollars
  10. Bitcoin Cash
  11. KuCoin Shares

Linking External Wallets

With this feature, you can store your wallet address to allow for quick and easy purchases with the cryptocurrency of your choice. The transactions are still subject to the limitations of your wallet of. For example, using the MetaMask extension for an Ethereum transaction will still require you to pay gas. Of course, once you're operating in any capacity on the HIVE blockchain (the home of Splinterlands), your transactions will be free. At HIVE, that's one of the things we're best at. If you'd like to start getting rewarded for posting on HIVE, check out Peakd.com.

Getting Money Out

As is the nature with most things crypto, Splinterlands is designed for the player to purchase the starter, earn rewards and build their collections... a long-term HODL. However, cashing out of Splinterlands is far easier than with most games. That's one of the founding principles of the game, whose founders were frustrated by their inability to get anything back from all the money and time spent on "classic" digital TCGs.

I will go into more detail about this in another article, as this one is primarily about the many ways you can buy Splinterlands products. But here is a summary: When you sell a Splinterlands card on the market, you can be paid in 2 ways.

1. Dark Energy Crystals - DEC is the main in-game currency of Splinterlands. They are tradable on Hive-Engine, the decentralized exchange for the HIVE blockchain. From there, they can be transferred in and out of the Splinterlands game, but also bought and sold for HIVE. HIVE is listed on multiple mainstream cryptocurrency exchanges such as Bittrex.

2. HIVE - HIVE is the native token of the HIVE blockchain. When another player buys your card from the market with HIVE, you are also paid in HIVE tokens, which can be traded for BTC on a number of exchanges or powered up for staking rewards on the blockchain.
