RE: Announcing the ZenSports Gold Foil Cup Live - Thousands in Prizes!

I understand your frustration, but for this type of tournament, and almost all events that require many hours of manual hosting, they will take place during the day in the United States.

First of all, thousands of dollars in prizes are being provided by ZenSports (a US-based company) for these tournaments, so they get to decide 100% when the tournaments will take place.

Splinterlands created anytime tournaments long ago as a solution to this problem, but these ZenSports tournaments are designed to attract as many spectators as possible, and that could not be done if we were trying to run them in the middle of the night. I would never even consider hosting (which involves many hours of work) in the middle of the night. If they wanted to hold a tournament in the night, I would instead recommend that they use the built-in anytime tournament interface.

The first week's tourney was originally scheduled for 2pm EST, but they did not realize when scheduling that it was in direct conflict with DYGYCON. As soon as they learned that, the tourney was rescheduled for immediately after DYGYCON. This time, the players were able to vote between 3 different choices for the day's time and they overwhelmingly chose 5pm EST.

I can't speak for ZenSports, but I can say that I would not host a night time tournament. However, if I were a tournament player on the other side of the world, I would absolutely consider waking up for the 2-3 hours of tournament play with such awesome prizes involved. 😀

Sorry I can't guarantee that there will be more live tournaments at times you like. Perhaps one day when our team is expanded or we find new tournament partners in new parts of the world this will change.

I get all that... it's just a bit frustrating.
And getting up in the middle of the night is not an option, due to personal circumstances.
