Weekly Battle Challenge : Radiated Brute

Short Fire.png

Introduction

Hello guys welcome to my blog. This week's battle challenge theme is Radiated Brute. Radiated Brute monster card is available in starter card set to everyone for free of cost. It's a common fire card and at Level 1 it has Reach ability which allows it to attack from the second position. At my level(1) it costs 5 mana, has 5 health and 1 speed. It goes up to level 10 and during levelling up it gets one more ability at level 6 : Enrage(Has increased Melee attack and Speed when damaged. Multiplier x1.5 rounded up)

Lore

The spreading blight on the continent of Praetoria twisted both the land and its people.

Plants and animals were the first to become corrupted. Fungus sprouted from vegetation and gave them sentience. Animals grew extra limbs, heads, and grew to extraordinary sizes.

Then the people fell ill. Some thought it was from the plague brought about by Doctor Blight. Others thought perhaps it was from the poisonous gases that seeped from the fissures near the volcano.

Whatever it was, those who survived the sickness were changed. They mutated, grew stronger, and were filled with an uncontrollable rage. Some were unable to control that rage and went on murderous rampages. Others fought to maintain their sanity long enough to protect their family, friends, and neighbors from themselves. They fled into the Jade Thicket, where they became as feral as the wild animals of the continent.

The people of Praetoria referred to them as Radiated Brutes.

Anyways Let's get into the battle. Here's the line up :

Fire Summoners - Tarsa Vs Tarsa

Ruleset :

(Explained from left to right)

Ruleset.PNG

  • Aim True - Melee and Ranged attacks always hit their target.

  • Spreading Fury - All Monsters have the Enrage (Has increased Melee attack and Speed when damaged. Multiplier x1.5 rounded up) ability.

  • Mana - 19

  • Splinters Allowed - Fire and Dragon

Thought process

As only Fire and Dragon Splinters were available, I chose Fire because of Aim true Ruleset because melee monsters won't miss their attacks. Also at Silver 3 (my league) people generally do not have good Dragon monsters so I was confident that opponent would also go Fire Splinter. Synergy of Living Lava and Radiated Brute coupled with low mana cards to tank few hits from opponent frontline were my focus in my lineup.

Cards Used with explanations :

Tarsa_lv1.png
Card Type - Summoner
Element - Fire
Rarity - Rare

  • Tarsa -

I wanted to use Fire Splinter so I chose her. Her One melee damage and Health buff is very strong. Because of her buff our all monsters have one extra health and melee damage. As opponent also used same summoner so he also had same buff.

Scorch Fiend_lv1.png
Element - Fire
Rarity - Legendary

  • (Scorch Fiend) -
It is a zero mana legendary card. In low mana matches like this one zero mana cards are really helpful. In this matchup I used it as a soft tank in front for my living lava. It did it's job and as a bonus it also got a hit off

Radiated Scorcher_lv3_gold.png
Element - Fire
Rarity - Common

  • (Radiated Scorcher) -
At second position I placed Radiated Scorcher to get rid of opponent monster's Armor if any so that my living lava and Radiated Brute can do damage. It was successful in getting rid of the Armor.

Living Lava_lv1.png
Element - Fire
Rarity - Rare

  • (Living Lava) -
At third position is living lava which was my main tank and damage dealer. Living lava has Shield ability at level 1 that allows it to tank 1 melee or 1 archery damage with no damage to itself. It has 3 base attack and paired with Tarsa's buff it 4 attack now. As opponent frontline do note have any Armor now it hits like a truck. It has 7 + 1 health and two Armor as well so it is a really good tank. 1 speed wasn't a issue here because of Aim true Ruleset. In this battle it survived till the end.

Radiated Brute_lv1.png
Element - Fire
Rarity - Common

  • Radiated Brute -
At fourth is our silent hero Radiated Brute. It got a attack of on opponent frontline because of which opponent frontline died next round. It also got rid of a soft tank (Chaos Agent) and a monster (Serpentine Spy) before it could attack our frontline. It took no damage from opponent in this battle and survived till end with Living Lava.

Creeping Ooze_lv1.png
Element - Neutral
Rarity - Common

  • Creeping Ooze-
At fifth position is Creeping Ooze which is a 1 mana monster with Slow ability which slows down opponent with 1 speed. It also acted as a backline soft tank for our Radiated Brute.

Chaos Agent_lv1.png
Element - Neutral
Rarity - Common

  • Chaos Agent-
At last position is Chaos agent which is one more 1 mana card. It was there just tank a hit from opponent monster attacking backline.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

Yep it did work out fine this time. Well that depends on ruleset.

Do you like the (Radiated Brute)? Why or why not?

In reverse speed and aim True ruleset this card paired with living lava is a great combo. It has good attack and health for it's mana cost. Only downside is it's speed. I like this card because of it's synergy with living lava.
