Splinterlands – The Beginner’s Guide – Part 4

Hello everyone! 😄

Today I’ll proceed with the 4th part of The Beginner’s Guide focused on Bronze/Silver League. You can check Part 3 here.

This time I’ll talk about 17 Mana Cap and I divided it in 5 Teams, one for each Splinter.

Team Setup

I came up with these five ideas below, I’m sure that there are stronger combinations/strategies with different summoners/monsters, but I hope you can get something from here and adapt if necessary (Fiends are the only legendaries, but not really necessary).

Team 1: Kelya gives +1 armor to all friendly monsters, for this reason I put 3 monsters with low mana cost that will survive a little bit longer (unless the opponent go for Magic Damage) and give time for the monsters in position 4-5-6 do the damage. Creeping Ooze can be replaced by Chaos Agent or Hardy Stonefish

Team 2: Cursed Windeku is a good counter when your enemy is going for mass melee with low mana cost such as Serpentine Spy+Kobold Miner/Uraeus, Sabre Shark+Pelacor Bandit+Elven Cuthroat, Celestial Harpy+Stitch Leech etc. Even if that doesn't happen, he is a solid Tank.

Team 3: Life Splinter Strategy is similar to Water, Mother Khala+Truthspeaker gives +1 HP and +2 Armor, so the low HP units hopefully don’t die in a single strike. The Mages helps to kill tanks with shield or heavy armor. One of the problems of the Life Splinter Monsters is the low speed and Time Mage helps a little bit with Slow ability.

Team 4: Earth Splinter is based on magic damage and one good tank. Not Much to add.

Team 5: Fire Splinter Strategy is based on Melee Damage aiming to kill the backline monsters before the monster in the 1st position.

Conclusion

Water and Death had the best win rate (3-1 or 75%), Life and Earth (2-2 or 50%) and finally Fire got 1-3 (25%), beating only the Earth Team. Therefore, you should pick in this order: Water -> Death -> Earth -> Life -> Fire.
