i could not resist the temptation of creating a battle post about Grund
such a wonderful card , very nice art-design just wish i could see the whole creature design in the 'lore' section and not the cropped one...this is a problem i have many times addressed to the discord server but i have never got an answer why the dev-team is giving us the images of the monsters cropped and not in full
anyway, not much i can do about it so i just have to accept the fact
now, this war-lusting alligator with the unbeatable hammers is a monster-card which i will definitely honor with a separately post about the must-have cards in Splinterlands world!
Grund is a Chaos Legion, Earth Splinter's monster , an epic rarity monster with a huge advantage
it has double strike ability from lvl 1
imo this monster could easily pass as a legendary card instead of an epic
its abilities could easily justify the legendary factor but anyway
Grund with his two hammers - honor and justice -has a massive attack of 3 points from lvl 1 and can be considered as a tank with his 10 life points
in lvl 4 he becomes really terrifying as he gets 4 attack points plus the TRAMPLE ability
just imagine him in the battle field...he can take down a whole enemy's team just by himself
let's have a closer look at Grund's stats
you can click on the following link to see my battle where i used Grund
...Grund's battle...
the battle was tricky
it was a low mana cap battle of 16 mana points
we had to follow 'lost mana' and 'super sneaky' rules so the ruleset terminated all the magic attack monsters
after checking my opponent i decided to take a risk
and that risk was to use Mylor as a Summoner and Grund as my main and only monster
his main ability double strike was the 'weapon' i hoped would make the difference
as you understand i had no other mana points to use after getting Grund , he consumed 10 points leaving me with only 3 after Mylor consumed another 3 points
the strategy was to get as many monsters as i could trying to exploit the thorns Mylor was providing to its teamstersin in conjunction with the 'super sneak' rule taking as granted that my opponent would use many melee attack monsters
well i do admit there was too much risk but sometimes this works
as i said above Mylor was picked as the leader of this fight
his Thorns ability is a maximum value ability in certain battle terrains
i can say he is one of my favorites Summoners cause he combines great utility with very low mana consumption
i mean 3 points of mana is not something so important so Mylor gives you the opportunity to use him in many cases
its price might give you a small headache as it is trading for about 10 $ per BCX but it pays you back in the longrun
my strategy was simple
Grund was supposed to hold the line ,Grund was supposed to destroy the enemy with double attack, Grund was supposed to fight back with the thorns ability provided by Mylor
the 16 points of mana constrained the number of monsters both teams could pick so i believed Grund with some support monsters could get me the win
the other monsters framed the team were Browie and Ooze , Mycelic Morphoid , and the two zero mana cost monsters the Chicken and the Fungus Fiend
nothing much except the fact that i increased mine and lower my rival's team speed
- gold foil Grund lvl 1
- Brownie lvl 1
- gold foil Creeping Ooze lvl 1
- Mycelic Morphoid lvl 1
- Fungus Fiend lvl 1
- gold foil Furious Chicken lvl 1
