Splinterlands Card Giveaway
Each week I host a giveaway for one of the original Reward Edition Splinterlands cards. Most of these cards have been out-of-print for almost two years, so new players can only get them in the market, and that can be pretty expensive. These giveaways are a way to help players build their deck for free.
Last week's prize was this Rusty Android card.
Now that the post has reached the end of the seven day point of payout it's time to spin the wheel of names and find out who the lucky winner is...

This Week's Giveaway
For this week's Blast From The Past Giveaway, I'm giving away another card from the original set of reward edition cards, a Gelatinous Cube.
The Gelatinous Cube has always been a popular card. With a high health it's a good barrier to protect your ranged and magic users. Add to that the Scavenger ability and you have a monster capable of protecting your secondary for several rounds. It's even more useful when you level it up to 6th level and it gains the heal ability. It just seems to be made for some of the newer Rulesets too. Stick a level 6 Gelatinous Cube in the back of your team when the Ruleset is Noxious Fumes, and he will just keep healing and growing stronger every round.
Currently the cheapest Level 1 Gelatinous Cube card is $2.99 on the Splinterlands market. That means it is worth many times the 15 DEC you would get from burning the card to extract the DEC locked within it. So don't even think about sending this card to the burn tanks!
If you are just starting out and haven't been able to add a Gelatinous Cube to your deck or just need another one to level up, then you should get in on this giveaway. The Gelatinous Cube card will be sent to one lucky winner when this contest closes at post payout time.
If this Gelatinous Cube card doesn't fit in with your master plan for Splinterlands domination, or if you lack the skill and wisdom necessary to achieve victory with it, you can always rent it to someone else or try to sell it in the market.

Seriously, though, that's a great card. I still use it daily. It's a beast with BizKit, damn near unstoppable.
@randolphrope wrote a post about it long ago that got my attention so I bought a bunch of them for $0.01, maxxed mine out and sold a few for 2 cents, and held a bunch until recently, when I think I sold them for $1 each. Not sure how many I still had, it was probably 20 or so. Obviously, I wish I had keot a few, but damn, man, with that kind of turn-around how can I piss &/or moan about it.
Oh, while I'm talking about him, @randolphrope also gave me my first dragon cards. One day, in chat, dragons came up and I off handedly said I didn't have any because I couldn't afford to play them. Dude gave me a FUCKING ALPHA Selenia Sky, and one of each Alpha dragon,. Even before things exploded I thought it was one of the coolest gifts I've ever gotten. Now, when I meet him on the battle field, and his former lightning dragon lights his ass up, I feel a little bad, but then !LOL at the irony.
I hope he understands.
Anyway, getting back on topic, Jesus Christ, man. That's a great card!
I'm not dying, but I do need pizza, beer and brotherly !LUV. A few !LOLZ wouldn't hurt either. A Selena and a whole set of Dragons? @randolphrope sounds like an extremely generous guy. He's the kind of person that makes this such a great community.

Many people think that Rusty Android is most useless card ever, but in specific game rules - monsters loses all his abilities, he is better than Impaler :D
Old rewards have really good collection power, which is really important now ;)
