I have noticed the circulation amount on certain common & rare Beta edition Gold foil cards have dropped by 1.
Which is awesome to say to the least, since I own some of these cards, and it ultimately should increase long term value by creating more scarcity...

Athough it's a money destroying move as the dec received is a fraction of the value these cards are priced at. I hope the person did this strategically and not through some accident.
It's quite an interesting concept of burning cards
Back in the day I did a fair share of burning cards that shouldn't have been burned
Though - At the time - The Dec value obtained was either equal or slightly greater than the sell value with the 5% fee

It's insane to look at the current prices of once cheap cards.
The death foils were $5 or less for a long time and Spirit miner was about $50.
Which for those doubting splinterlands, it really puts this downturn in perspective when prior edition cards are on average still 10x the values from only a couple years ago.
Which actually gets me thinking...
What if an account on hive was dedicated to using it's posting rewards as a method of buying splinterland cards just to burn - recycling the dec into buying and burning more.
maybe create a pole where the community would chose which cards would be saved up for and destroyed.
This could get fun and interesting
I think I may devise a plan to get the ball rolling on this.
