SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! PIRATE CAPTAIN

Our featured monster for this week is Captain Jack Sparrow of Splinterlands, none other than the Pirate Captain !!!

Pirate Captain is from the Water splinter which have the Alpha and Beta variant.

Abilities:
  • SNIPE (at level 1) prioritizes on attacking monster with range, magic, or no-attack type monster at the back of the 1st position or enemy tank.
  • INSPIRE (at level 6) is a support skill that provides additional melee attack damage to melee type monster on our team.

Battle rules and strategy

  • Rule set in this matched was Noxious Fume, which poisoned all monsters at the start of the battle.
  • Mana cap of 29
  • Playable Splinters = Water, Life, Earth and Dragon

Poison damages all the monster by 2 HP after each round. Normally, the best way to survive in this match is to remove the poison status effect thru the use of Cleanse ability but unfortunately, I don't have any monster with that ability.

An alternative is to outheal the damage by poison thru Heal or Tank Heal ability. This is the reason why I picked Water Elemental for self-heal. I can also pick Sea Monster from the Water splinter since it has also Heal on itself, but I am not sure if it can heal the damage from enemy attacks and the damage cause by poison.

I chose Bortus as the Summoner combine with Djinn Oshannus (2nd slot) as main tank to counter a possible Mage line-up. Cocatrice (1st slot) as decoy to absorb some initial attacks from enemy. Venari Wavesmith (3rd slot) for the additional armor incase enemy uses Melee or Range attacks. Crustacean King (4th slot) for the additional heal to support Djinn Oshannus. Pirate Captain (4th slot) to snipe enemy backlines. And Water Elemental (6th slot) for range damage and heal for survivability.

I got lucky on my prediction that the enemy will use a mage line-up. Only the enemy's Djinn Oshannus had damage to my Djinn Oshannus. The rest of enemy mages have 0 damage due to Void ability.

I win this matched since I am more prepared than my opponent in terms of adjusting to the battle rules.

If ever I will be playing this match again, I will definitely have the Heal and Cleanse ability ready. For example, the Llama+Kron or Llama+Flesh Golem combination :)
