Now, I find myself intentionally steering into the eye of the storm.
― Lilith Fury

I wanted to offer a refuge to Victoria to keep her safe from the Devil's attacks.
I knew she didn't mean for me to be oppressed by demons, but I also knew I couldn't be her hero and do it all by myself― I'd need her help and support from Breton so that together we'd all have each other's back.
I was angry at myself for giving ground to Satan by allowing seducing spirits to undermine my defences and infiltrate my life.
I know these familiar spirits were using attractive women as Sirens to shipwreck my life, but now that Breton exposed their plans and showed me how I had been duped, I was determined to rescue Victoria as well and try to build a life together.
It would be hard because we both had been vulnerable to the Enemy's tactics but Breton was teaching us ways to overcome Satanic lies.
He used the example of Nehemiah who rebuilt Jerusalem's walls after the city had been laid waste by the Babylonians and the Jews taken into captivity.
Nehemiah had to rebuild the city walls while fighting off the enemy.
Victoria and I had to rebuild our spiritual foundations while under demonic attack and shore up our defences so we'd have a safe stronghold to repulse the attacks of the Enemy.
After our session with Breton I took Victoria to dinner at Milestones and then we went back to my townhouse where we’d hunker down for the night.
We knew a demonic attack would be forthcoming because Breton warned us and told us it would be a good test of our ability to withstand Satan’s assaults.
The old priest told us he’d be watching in the spirit and guarding our house. Our part was to protect each other and to gain experience in defending against the wiles of the Enemy.
It was easy peasy and I was almost disappointed that it would be so simple.
The only challenge Victoria and I had to confront was dealing with exhaustion—it had been a trying day and we probably shouldn’t have drunk wine at dinner.
“I’m going upstairs for a nap, Gray,” Victoria yawned, “I’ll come down later and we’ll talk.”
“I’ll hold down the fort,” I smiled, curling up on the couch and reaching for my copy of Great Gatsby to pass the time.
There was a soft rumble of thunder and then the sound of rain on the windows.
I lit a fire against the damp chill and lost myself in Jay and Daisy’s world.
It was the last thing I remembered before waking up to the house plunged in darkness and Victoria frantically calling me from the backyard,
I roused myself from my lethargy and realized Victoria was caught outside in a downpour.
I ran toward the sound of her frantic calls but at the exit door I was frozen.
A repulsive creature confronted me, so loathsome to look at, my stomach turned and I felt such disgust, I had to stumble back into the house and abandon Victoria to their whims.
Thank you!

That was an exceptional buildup to the loathsome creature in the image.
