Card Highlights #5: Peaceful Giant
A tank is a creature whose job is to take damage for the team. They protect others by selflessly sacrificing themselves. In other words, they're bunch of masochists. (Lol)
Lore
There have always been stories of Giants in the Splinterlands, but recently they began to arrive. They bring tales of a home far across the water that they had to flee from a terrible threat. Luckily, these refugee Giants mean no harm to the Splinterlands. Most of them arrived by swimming across the entire Outer Ocean.
Buy/Sell Cost
Peaceful giant is free to play. If you're not planning to level up or need collection power, the basic level 1 version is good enough. If you want to be more efficient, the gold foil is better as it provides better health and a bonus DEC per win. That is, of course, you have the summoner to partner it to. I prefer renting vs buying at all times. When I computed it, you will be renting like at least 100 days for it to be the same cost as purchasing it. So if you're not planning to use it for a long time, rent. If you're looking for a long time investment, buy.
Stats and Card Stats
Peaceful Giant is a pacifist. He does not have any damage and abilities. He pays it back by having immense health to tank all the damage the opponent throws. He has amazing health to tank amidst having low mana cost. It's a really useful all around tank for any occassion.
When to use
Anytime. It's a really good tank that would be useful for all occassions. It's best to be used against earth types because Mylor sometimes is a pain for it destroys the tanks when they have melee damage. Mylor gives thorns to all creatures which damages enemy attacker by 2 per attack.
When not to use
There's no time or situation that I do not use Peaceful Giant. Probably, only if it's really low mana like 12 or 15 mana that I don't use it because on those match ups, damage is more important. Other than that, I always use him unless there's better tanks available like Kraken.
Battle
This is the positioning I used for this battle:
Peaceful Giant's best position is in the front. He's a tank through and through. There's no other position available since he doesn't provide any damage or abilities. He's a pure tank and his position is on the 1st slot only.
Round 1
By end of Round 1, a few of my creature's armor has been damaged. I got armor via Venari Wavesmith's Protect Ability. During this game, the only card that would damage Peaceful Giant is Serpent of Eld which would be healed by Crustacean King.
Round 2
By end of Round 2, due to Target Practice Rule Set, all of my creatures that have magic damage also gains sniper ability. So, my creatures attacks their back lane as well.
Round 3
By end of Round 3, almost all of my opponent's creature is dead. Serpent of Eld is the only alive one that technically has damage but King Crustacean's Tank Heal provides support to my Peaceful Giant so it's only a matter of time before I win.
Round 4 and Round 5
By end of Round 4, Serpent of Eld got eliminated and Uraeus is the only card alive on my opponent's board.No one died on my team thanks to the effort of my supports and for having a good tank. If Peaceful Giant dies, Serpent of Eld might've massacred my whole team. A good tank is essential to any battle.
Game ended at Round 5 Turn 3.

The peaceful giant was once my favorite tank in the lineup of an arena.
Still good but there's more cards that are better now sadly.
