Demand for Splinterlands cards have been increasing recently and can be seen based off the overall market cap rising. Today at an all time high.
With price rising some players like myself who do not have the money to purchase cards at premium prices have to wait patiently to buy cards. One method I have learned to score deals is through Peakmonster's market shop. https://peakmonsters.com/market allows players to see current market value of any card and has a trend percentage of change relative to pass sales. This is nice to compare if the current card price I am seeking is at a discount or premium compare to previous sales. Often when a card is more than 60% off from previous sale I know for a fact that the card currently in the market is a bargain.
So at times if I can find a card at more than 60% discount and a card I need I would purchase it. Other times although the discount is big the trouble is the card is likely at max level which would require a lot of upfront $$$ in order to purchase.
The rewards summoner Dragonscale I like is at a big discount but trouble is the card at that discount is max level and hence would require over $40 to purchase. So I have to move on and find other cards that propose similar discount rates but lower bcx also.
Sometimes the discount is not significant but the total cost is much lower since the card being sold is not at max level. These are cards I often get my hands on when I see ones I like to own. The best deals I feel are when the summoner/monster is at low level while the cost per bcx is also low. I just have to be patient with sales as those type of cards don't come at these specific prices.
There are other ways to score nice Splinterlands card deals such as joining the discord channels where deals and trades for cards are offered on a daily basis. Link here.
I recommend bulk buying of cards to go through either peakmonster's sets selection or through discord channel. The latter is good for individuals to be able to negotiate better prices but may take more time and effort since both sides of the trades have to be online discussing. While peakmonster once someone posts their set of cards for a specific price the buyer can come in at any time to purchase the set.
