What is Splinterlands?
Splinterlands is a card game, similar with Hearthstone, where you can play battle against other players to get a better rank or in tournaments. It is a NFT game based on Hive Blockchain, with multiple ways to capitalise and make money, real money, by playing it or trading in it. You can start earning as soon as you buy a Spellbook ($10) getting DEC tokens and NFT monster cards via daily quests and season quests (every 2 weeks). The airdrop ended. You can still get some rewards staking all you SPS for a 36.70% APR right now. Holy Molly! I got one validator, and if you want to know, all the licences from the pre-sale were sold in 12 minutes. You can buy one in the Tranche 1, paying $3000 in SPS. You can get it much cheaper (around $800 less) if you buy 500 Vouchers and use them when you buy a licence. Another way to make profit is to rent cards, getting paid in DEC tokens for it. But, my, oh my, the renting price right now is so, so low. Check the contest at the end of this post!
We can buy still Chaos Legion packs with 4$, using just DEC, for a 45% discount right now (something like $2.10 per pack instead of $4). Even then, if you want to get the extra packs, you still need vouchers, but just for the bonus packs. An awesome hint from a really good player (not me), if you open your packs after the Legendary summoners are introduced, you have a small chance to get them from the packs. The Riftwatchers pack will be here at the end of September, and you need 5$ of SPS +1 Voucher to buy 1 pack, 43 cards in total, including the 5 airdrops. It was announced that Lands NFT are coming in the third quarter now, with the new Roadmap proposed by Splinterlands. Just check this awesome page about what are the Lands supposed to do.
The Mycelic Slipspawn is a rare Earth Splinter card, one of those few Magic damage, Taunt, kind of tank. My favourite Earth team is using Grund as tank, with double strike, armored up by Queen Mycellia, with Goblin Psychic as healer and the Slipspawn using Taunt to keep them away from Grund, healed by the Queen Triage too.

So, for the challenge, this were the starting conditions:

Rulesets: Lost Legendaries (No legendary cards allowed)
Teams:
Mine - Summoner: Obsidian as summoner, boosting Magic damage by +1, with Grund as main tank using Double Strike, Trample to attack again when score a kill and Cripple, making the opponent to lose 1 max Health when attacking, Regal Periton on the second position as Flying, 3 Magic damage, high Health card, Goblin Psychic as tank healer, countering their tank healing with Affliction and decreasing enemy magic damage by -1, Mushroom Seer decreasing Magic attack with a further -1 with Silence, Tortisian Chief with Heal, and Mycelic Slipspawn last, protecting the tank with Taunt, a cool Forcefield decreasing the Deeplurker and Sandworm attack from 5 to 1, slowing the opponent's card Speed by -1 too.
Opponent - Summoner: Kelya Frendul, increasing Speed and Armor by +1, with Diemonshark as main tank with Trample, Enrage and kicking back with Retaliate, Flying Squid as off tank with Reach, Blind and dealing 2 damage when missed using Backfire, Deeplurker with Opportunity, Poison and decreasing my attack damage by -1, Sandworm with Sneak, Nerrissa Tridawn with 4 Magic attack and Wave Brood last, with Taunt also, and Void skill reducing the Magic damage.
Round 1 - Just exchanging hits, no card died this round.
Round 2 - His Wave Brood was destroyed, and his main tank also fell.
Round 3 - Another 2 biting the dust, Flying Squid and Deeplurker, under my relentless magic attack.
Round 4 - The Sandworm and Nerissa were no match to my full team of 6, and I won. (not talking now about the previous 2 games were my Slipspawn died early and I lost.)
Star of the game - There are all good, but I think Grund deserve some extra praise for holding the enemy horde at the gates.
On the side note, my continuous support for Splintertalk.io is going well, with my SPT tokens number raising over 1.125 million. All of it is delegated to @monster-curator, as this account is doing a great work curating the best posts on the forum. I have finally reached the needed SPT power (110K at the moment) to manually curate on Splinterlalk.io. Also, i have finished working on acquiring 50K+ 1UP (58k 1UP now) next, inspired by the Cartel efforts. Bought 200K Level too, for PsyberX airdrop, as I also managed to round up 100 Hive to buy a piece of Land in their game. Got 5 PsyberX packs already on airdrop. Happy to have them! On top of this, it will be a new soccer game and another tower defense too, made by the Splinterlands team, with quite some interesting mechanisms. Coming up in September-October with the first versions!
