Always speak politely to a live dragon. (A Splinterlands battle challenge)

What is Splinterlands?

Splinterlands is a card game, similar with Hearthstone, where you can play battle against other players to get a better rank or in tournaments. It is a NFT game based on Hive Blockchain, with multiple ways to capitalise and make money, real money, by playing it or trading in it. You can start earning as soon as you buy a Spellbook ($10) getting DEC tokens and NFT monster cards via daily quests and season quests (every 2 weeks). There is an airdrop daily, for a whole year, currently at day 276/365, I think, and you can still get some nice governance tokens just by playing the game for the next few months. Everything counts, cards, DEC on HIVE, WAX, ETH and BSC, lands, titles, skins. You can maximize the airdrop by staking all you SPS for a 24.6% APR right now. Another way to make profit is to rent cards, getting paid in DEC tokens for it. But, my, oh my, the renting price right now is so, so low.

At last, we can finally buy packs with 4$, using just Credits. Even then, if you want to get the extra packs, you still need vouchers, but just for the bonus packs. An awesome hint from a really good player (not me), if you open your packs after the Legendary summoners are introduced, you have a small chance to get them from the packs. It was announced that Lands NFT and Riftwatchers pack are coming in the third quarter now, with the new Roadmap proposed by Splinterlands. Just check this awesome page about what are the Lands supposed to do.

One of my favourites summoners, Daria, is one that I use often in the challenges, even if is boosting only the melee attack by 1, and not the +1 Health as Tarsa, because you have also access to the Dragon monster cards, and I do have most of them max level. I have managed to do it level 4 for now, but it is too expensive to upgrade it more than that. One card to buy is $21, so you can see how 11 of them is quite a problem to achieve. I would rather use the money to upgrade legendaries from Chaos Legion, some of them quite cheaper right now.

So, for the challenge, this were the starting conditions:

Mana Limit: 21

Rulesets: Fog of war (No Sneak or Snipe) and Broken Arrows (No Ranged attackers)

Teams:

Mine - Summoner: Daria ( boosting Melee attack by +1), with a Cursed Slimeball first, to get a hit or two, and make some damage with his Redemption ability. Then I used a Cursed Windeku as main tank, with Thorns to return damage and Heal, and a Twilight Basilisk off-tank, for its Stun, added to Flight to dodge some attacks, backed up by an Undead Priest, with only 1 Magic attack, but using a Weaken ability to decrease enemy's health by 1. A corpse fiend on the back to protect from Opportunity attacks, and Doctor Blight camouflaged, using Affliction and Poison, and Scavenger for extra Health.

Opponent - Summoner: A very scary Waka using his legendary Poison skill added to all the opponent cards. Tank was a Cursed Windeku, same like me, with a Creeping Ooze on the second position to slow me down. Then Silent Shavi with Cripple ability, to decrease my health, and Magi Necrosi as magic user, with Camouflage and Opress abilities. Last one was a Chicken.

This was a interesting battle, and the teams were almost equal. He killed my Slimeball with its first attack, its Redemption taking out his Chicken and Ooze. Then his Windeku just died in front of my mighty army, and with a bit of luck, my tank survived 3 times with 1-2 Health, healing itself at the last moment, and managing to kill the Shavi and the Magi.
Flawless victory!

Star of the game - The Windeku, such a reliant tank if you have enough firepower to take 1 or 2 monsters out from the enemy's team.

On the side note, my continuous support for Splintertalk.io is going well, with my SPT tokens number raising over 1 million. All of it is delegated to @monster-curator, as this account is doing a great work curating the best posts on the forum. I have finally reached the needed SPT power (105K at the moment) to manually curate on Splinterlalk.io. Also, working on acquiring 50K Oneup (9000 UP now) next, inspired by the Cartel efforts. Bought 200K Level too, for PsiberX airdrop, as I also managed to round up 100 Hive to buy a piece of Land in their game.

Also, if you are posting on Publish0x and Read.cash blogs, and you liked the Chifibots game mentioned in the latest OneUp Cartel posts, there are still 4 prizes to be won if you want to get some of their NFT packs on this contest, open until the day they launch.

All the best,
George
