What is Splinterlands?
Splinterlands is a card game, similar with Hearthstone, where you can play battle against other players to get a better rank or in tournaments. It is a NFT game based on Hive Blockchain, with multiple ways to capitalise and make money, real money, by playing it or trading in it. You can start earning as soon as you buy a Spellbook ($10) getting DEC tokens and NFT monster cards via daily quests and season quests (every 2 weeks). They did had 3 different events sold-out, the Riftwatchers presale, The Runi NFTs and the Tower defence game presale. In one week! Play2Earn at its best. It is waaaay to much, and I need to prioritize maxing out the RW summoners right now, waiting to buy more CL and RW packs for later. Check the contest at the end of this post!
We can buy still Chaos Legion packs with 4$, using just DEC, for a 45% discount right now (something like $2.10 per pack instead of $4). Even then, if you want to get the extra packs, you still need vouchers, but just for the bonus packs. We can buy Riftwatchers packs for $5 in SPS and 1 Vouchers. An awesome hint from a really good player (not me), if you open your packs after the Legendary summoners are introduced, you have a small chance to get them from the packs. It was announced that Lands NFT are coming in the 1st quarter of 2023 now, with the new Roadmap proposed by Splinterlands. Just check this awesome page about what are the Lands supposed to do.
The Magi of Chaos is an Epic Neutral card, with quite good stats, a natural enemy of Lord Arianthus after level 5, as it is gaining the Opress skill (Double damage for enemies with no attack). At max level it has 4 Magic attack, 2 Speed and 7 Health. The low speed is making it a good candidate for the Reverse Speed ruleset, especially if it is combined with a summoner boosting magic skills.

So, for the challenge, this were the starting conditions:
Mana Limit: 60
Rulesets: Back to basics (no abilities for monsters) and Keep your Distance (no melee in the game).
Teams:
Mine - Summoner: Alric boosting magic +1, with Baakjira as main tank, supported by Lobstradamus, and some high health Magicians after that - Djinn Oshannus, Nerissa, Phantom of the Abyss, Magi of Chaos, totaling 13 Magic damage before boost.
Opponent - Summoner: My opponent played an inspired Bortus, canceling my magic boost by -1, and he had Djinn Oshannus and Nerissa in front as tanks, some 4 Health Wavesmith and Hellondale, and 2 archers on the back, Axemaster and Sniping Narwhal
Round 1 - I was a bit worried when i've seen Bortus, worring that my magic will be not enough, but the opponent had some low health cards, as opposed to my 13 Health Baakjira. Both our main tanks died in the first round.
Round 2 - As his Nerissa was only level 1, I managed to kill her and the Wavesmith, losing only Oshannus.
Round 3 - My Lobstradamus died, tooking with him another 2 of the enemy's monsters, Hellondale and Axemaster.
Round 4 - The Narwhal died, and I won, once more. I think the issue was that, once in the first position, the archers stop attacking, while the magic users still do.
Star of the game - Nerissa Tridawn, doing most of the damage on the battlefield.
On the side note, my continuous support for Splintertalk.io is going well, with my SPT tokens number raising over 1.13 million. All of it is delegated to @monster-curator, as this account is doing a great work curating the best posts on the forum. Also, i have finished acquiring the desired 1UP (60k 1UP now), inspired by the Cartel efforts. On top of this, it was announced a new soccer game made by the Splinterlands team, with quite some interesting mechanisms. Coming up after October with the first versions!
