What is Splinterlands?
Splinterlands is a card game, similar with Hearthstone, where you can play battle against other players to get a better rank or in tournaments. It is a NFT game based on Hive Blockchain, with multiple ways to capitalise and make money, real money, by playing it or trading in it. You can start earning as soon as you buy a Spellbook ($10) getting DEC tokens and NFT monster cards via daily quests and season quests (every 2 weeks). The airdrop ended. You can still get some rewards staking all you SPS for a 36.70% APR right now. Holy Molly! I got one validator, and if you want to know, all the licences from the pre-sale were sold in 12 minutes. You can buy one in the Tranche 1, paying $3000 in SPS. You can get it much cheaper (around $800 less) if you buy 500 Vouchers and use them when you buy a licence. Another way to make profit is to rent cards, getting paid in DEC tokens for it. But, my, oh my, the renting price right now is so, so low. Check the contest at the end of this post!
We can buy still Chaos Legion packs with 4$, using just DEC, for a 45% discount right now (something like $2.10 per pack instead of $4). Even then, if you want to get the extra packs, you still need vouchers, but just for the bonus packs. An awesome hint from a really good player (not me), if you open your packs after the Legendary summoners are introduced, you have a small chance to get them from the packs. It was announced that Lands NFT and Riftwatchers pack are coming in the third quarter now, with the new Roadmap proposed by Splinterlands. Just check this awesome page about what are the Lands supposed to do.
The Angelic Mandarin is a Rare Water splinter unit, and at max level 8 it has 2 Ranged Damage, 4 Speed and 7 Health, with only 3 Mana cost. At level 4 it gains Triage skill (healing one random unit from the team, except the tank) and at level 8 it gains Silence skill (minus -1 Magic Damage), a very useful skill, as the Water splinter missed such a skill until Chaos legions (It was the summoner, but that means missing Armor, Speed or other boosts provided by the other Water summoners). It is a powerful card to use in combination with a Taunt card in the last position, especially in the low mana battles (my ideal team is a self-healing tank, healer with repair, Mandarin and card with Taunt - Wave Brood).

So, for the challenge, this were the starting conditions:
Mana Limit: 13
Rulesets: Equal Opportunity (all cards got Opportunity skill) and Explosive Weaponry (all cards get Blast skill)
Teams:
Mine - Summoner: Kelya Frendul, providing +1 Armor and +1 Speed. As main tank I used Naga Warrior with Enrage and Retaliate to get some extra damage done, and then 2 Zero Mana cost cards: Furious Chicken and Torrent Fiend as buffer, to protect the important cards in the back. Then I used the Albatross as a healer, with Flying and the Angelic Mandarin to keep the cards alive one extra hit, healing with Triage.
Opponent - Summoner: Kelya Frendul, once again, for extra Armor and Speed, with 3 cheap cards in the front, Chaos Agent, Torrent Fiend and Creeping Ooze with Slow, protecting the Pelacor Bandit with Sneak and Flying, melee attack boosted by the Pirate Captain, which was also doing some 3 ranged damage using Snipe too (max level).
Round 1 - His Bandit and the Pirate Captain managed to kill my Albatross, while I took out his first 2 cards, Chaos Agent and Torrent Fiend. The Mandarin healed itself. Round 2 - All my three cards on the back, Mandarin, Chicken and Fiend, were killed when the opponent attacked, while I have only destroyed his Ooze. Round 3 - The Pelacor Bandit attacked first, left my Naga with 4 Health. The Naga attacked and killed both remaining cards, thanks to Blast. I won.
Star of the game - The Naga Warrior, surviving the fight, even if did not retaliate at least once.
On the side note, my continuous support for Splintertalk.io is going well, with my SPT tokens number raising over 1.12 million. All of it is delegated to @monster-curator, as this account is doing a great work curating the best posts on the forum. I have finally reached the needed SPT power (110K at the moment) to manually curate on Splinterlalk.io. Also, i have finished working on acquiring 50K+ 1UP (56k 1UP now) next, inspired by the Cartel efforts. Bought 200K Level too, for PsiberX airdrop, as I also managed to round up 100 Hive to buy a piece of Land in their game. Got 4 PsyberX packs already on airdrop in the last 3 months, with one more to come in September. Happy to have them! On top of this, it will be a new soccer game made by the Splinterlands team, with quite some interesting mechanisms. Coming up in September-October with the first versions!
