I'm not a killer, I'm a drug dealer, your main healer! (a Goblin Psychic Splinterlands battle challenge)

What is Splinterlands?

Splinterlands is a card game, similar with Hearthstone, where you can play battle against other players to get a better rank or in tournaments. It is a NFT game based on Hive Blockchain, with multiple ways to capitalise and make money, real money, by playing it or trading in it. You can start earning as soon as you buy a Spellbook ($10) getting DEC tokens and NFT monster cards via daily quests and season quests (every 2 weeks). There is an airdrop daily, for a whole year, currently at day 215/365, I think, and you can still get some nice governance tokens just by playing the game for the next year. Everything counts, cards, DEC on HIVE, WAX, ETH and BSC, lands, titles, skins. You can maximize the airdrop by staking all you SPS for a 30.6% APR right now. Another way to make profit is to rent cards, getting paid in DEC tokens for it. But, my, oh my, the renting price right now is so, so low.

The free for all 3rd phase sale is on, and I had only enough funds to buy 68 packs. At last, we can finally buy packs with 4$, using just Credits. Even then, if you want to get the extra packs, you still need vouchers, but just for the bonus packs. An awesome hint from a really good player (not me), if you open your packs after the Legendary summoners are introduced, you have a small chance to get them from the packs. Unlike right now. I believe that lands will be introduced next in the second quarter of 2022, I believe, with a price of 500$ on average for each at the moment. Just check this awesome page about what are the Lands supposed to do.

The Goblin Psychic is a Common Earth Unit that is essential to any team costing more than 20 Mana. At level 1 got tank heal, at level 4 get Affliction skill, stopping the opponent tank to heal, at level 7 is getting a very important skill, Silence, reducing all Magic attacks by 1, and at max level 10 gains Dispel, crealing all the positive effects when hitting. The higher the rank, the bigger the chance that you can win thanks to this card only, especially against magic damage teams. It is too expensive, if you are lucky you may buy a max level with 100-120$. Combined with the Sea Serpent as tank with self heal, these two cards can stand by themselves against an army with no Sneak or Snipe, so it is ideal for rulesets that silence the summoners, for example.

So, for the challenge, this were the starting conditions:

Mana Limit: 29

Rulesets: Spreading Fury (All monsters got Enrage) and Stampede (Trample skill can trigger multiple times)

Teams:

Mine - Summoner: Obsidian (boosting Magic by 1), with Flesh Golem as the main tank with self-healing, Failed Summoner to absorb some damage and reflect magic back to the enemy (useless this match), if the opponent got Blast, then Wood Nymph and Goblin Psychic as healers (and Affliction plus Silence to stop healing and reduce Magic damage- useless too this match), a Spirit Hoarder in case of Snipe with Dispel, Blind and Triage, reducing the chances to be hit, and hidden in the darkness, Doctor Blight poisoning them one by one.

Opponent - Summoner: Thaddius (decreasing Magic damage and Health by 1), with Cursed Windeku as the main tank, returning melee damage with the Thorns skill, backed up by a Legendary Harkclaw reducing melee and ranged damage with Shield and Immunity to negative effects, with another Legendary Cthulhu, level 2, with some scary skills - Crypple, reducing health, Stun and Flying, increasing avoidance for ranged and melee, and a Corpse Fiend to use the 1 Mana remaining and absorb one Snipe, I presume.

This was a interesting battle, lasting 6 rounds. He got lucky with Thaddius, decreasing my magic damage, maybe I am a bit predictible. But his whole team was oriented towards reduced melee and ranged damage, while most of my cards were using magic. Still, it was a long battle, and only my over-healing made me victorious. If he would have had few more levels of upgrade or a healer, I don't know If I could do it again. My main tank life went crippled from 10 to 4 Health, but that was all, as the opponent cards were destroyed one by one, slowly, as my tank was continuosly healed.

Star of the game - Given that the tank got stunned few times, he only withstanded the attacks as it was supported by my two healers, Goblin Psychic and Wood Nymph.

On the side note, my continuous support for Splintertalk.io is going well, with my SPT tokens number raising to 1 million. All of it is delegated to @monster-curator, as this account is doing a great work curating the best posts on the forum. I have finally reached the needed SPT power (100K at the moment) to manually curate on Splinterlalk.io. Also, working on acquiring 50K Oneup (800 UP now) next, inspired by the Cartel efforts. Fancy the idea of having 200K Level too, for their airdrop.

All the best,
George
