The brave warriors did not kill Dragons, they rode them (A Splinterlands battle challenge)

What is Splinterlands?

Splinterlands is a card game, similar with Hearthstone, where you can play battle against other players to get a better rank or in tournaments. It is a NFT game based on Hive Blockchain, with multiple ways to capitalise and make money, real money, by playing it or trading in it. You can start earning as soon as you buy a Spellbook ($10) getting DEC tokens and NFT monster cards via daily quests and season quests (every 2 weeks). There is an airdrop daily, for a whole year, currently at day 235/365, I think, and you can still get some nice governance tokens just by playing the game for the next year. Everything counts, cards, DEC on HIVE, WAX, ETH and BSC, lands, titles, skins. You can maximize the airdrop by staking all you SPS for a 28.7% APR right now. Another way to make profit is to rent cards, getting paid in DEC tokens for it. But, my, oh my, the renting price right now is so, so low.

At last, we can finally buy packs with 4$, using just Credits. Even then, if you want to get the extra packs, you still need vouchers, but just for the bonus packs. An awesome hint from a really good player (not me), if you open your packs after the Legendary summoners are introduced, you have a small chance to get them from the packs. Unlike right now. I believe that lands will be introduced next in the second quarter of 2022, I believe, with a price of 500$ on average for each at the moment. On the Dragon Splinter, there are quite few interesting summoners, and one of my favourites is Daria Dragonscale, with +1 Melee Damage boost, but do not forget, using the dragons not only give you access to some powerful cards, on top of that you can also select your favourite other splinter to add to the battle. This is some extra firepower. Or dragon power, to be technically correct.

So, for the challenge, this were the starting conditions:

Mana Limit: This was a superb battle with 99 Mana provided by the randomizer.

Rulesets: Closed Range (Archers can shoot from the first position) and Lost Legendaries (No Legendaries can be used in the match).

Teams:

Mine - Summoner: Daria Dragonscale with +1 Melee Damage boost, with Shieldbearer, using Taunt and Shield to absorb some serious damage, backed up by a Warrior of Peace, with no attack, but having a powerfull damage reducing ability, for both Melee and Ranged. Next on line, Silvershield Assassin with Sneak, Double Strike and Poison, the main card that will do the damage, boosted by another 2 members of the team with Inspire, the Evangelist (also doing a decent 4 Ranged Damage and got Snare) and the Silvershield Knight with Piercing. A Tortisian Chef with 2 Magic damage and tank healing was also added to the mix, to help the tanks to survive a bit longer.

Opponent - Summoner: Lorna Shine with Divine Shield (ignoring first hit damage) , Shieldbearer as main tank, reducing the damage, Silvershield Assasin on the second position with Poison, Double Strike and Sneak (attacking the last card), Sandworm with another Sneak , then 2 Magic users, Lunakari Misstres with Opress (double damage on cards with no attack like Warrior of Peace) and Djinn Renova with Strenghten (+1 Health boost), and finally, the Evangelist with Ranged Damage and Inspire.

This was a interesting battle, with very expensive cards, mana-wise, and the first to die was his Shieldbearer, shortly followed by my Shieldbearer. But then he lost his Assassin way too early together with his Evangelist, losing the +1 Melee Damage boost, while I lost only the Warrior of Peace. After Round 4, my Assassin killed the remaining three, Sandworm, Lunakari and Renova, and survived to tell the story, helped by some well times missed hits.

On the side note, my continuous support for Splintertalk.io is going well, with my SPT tokens number raising to 1 million. All of it is delegated to @monster-curator, as this account is doing a great work curating the best posts on the forum. I have finally reached the needed SPT power (103K at the moment) to manually curate on Splinterlalk.io. Also, working on acquiring 50K Oneup (3602 UP now) next, inspired by the Cartel efforts. Fancy the idea of having 200K Level too, for PsiberX airdrop (147K now), as I also managed to round up 100 Hive to buy a piece of Land in their game.
