We're going to check a new Chaos Legion card for water element. It is free to play if you're only going to use the level 1 of this card. It is probably one of the best tanks in the game at the moment due to its high armor and health despite a decent mana cost.

STATS

<centerStats.jpg

Diemonshark is probably the #1 tank in the game stat-wise. His high armor and health makes him a really good tank to block the damage. His damage is not on the high side but this can be easily fixed by adding cards with inspire abilities in the build.

Rent/Buy Cost

This is the rental cost of Diemonshark at the time of writing this article.

Since this is a free to play card, the rental right now is quite cheap. You don't necessarily need to rent this card if you're not planning to use it in higher levels and/or league.

This is the purchasing cost of Diemonshark at the time of writing this article.

The buy price right now is really cheap and is quite good for future investment. The ability is quite powerful as well if used at the right time.

Trample ability is really useful in a lot of situations. Here are some examples of how strong or weak Diemonshark's Trample Ability is based on the current ruling. There may be more benefits or disadvantages on other rule sets but these are I think the most important.

Advantageous Rules:

  • All gets Blast.PNG
With Blast ability, you do a splash damage to the other creatures. With trample, when you kill a creature, that second attack also does another splash damage. This would and could easily multiply and may be a really strong combo.
  • All gets Opportunity.PNG
Having your cards with an opportunity ability is really strong with Trample Ability as when they kill an opponent creature, they attack again. What does opportunity ability does? Target the lowest health creatures. I think this is kind of obvious on how overpowered this combo is.
  • Stampede.PNG
With Stampede Rule Set, all monsters with Trample restarts every time they kill a monster. They would do an additional attack when they kill the opponent creature and do another attack when they killed the next and so on and so forth. This is a really strong ability specially if the one who has the trample has huge attacks.

    Disadvantageous Rules:

  • All gets Divine Shield.PNG
Trample Ability requires you to kill an opponent to attack a second time. Having Divine Shield ability negates one of your damages. This means that a creature that you can kill in 1 hit to activate trample will live if they have divine shield and that allows the trample ability to not activate.

You can see the rule sets here.

Compatibility

Upon writing this article, I realized two strong cards that is most compatible with this, the dragon summoner, Daria Dragonscale which gives creatures +1 melee damage, and Demented Shark, which is a really cheap water card that provides inspire ability for another +1 damage. Imagine a 4 damage card with Trample in a Stampede Rule Set. That is what you call overpowered.

Positioning

Since the current Rule Set is Blast and Stampede, Diemonshark is an absolute must in this fight. I decided to put in high hp monsters with Diemonshark pushing in the frontline, supported by Flying Squid then Deeplurker.

Round 1

Round 1 End.jpg

By end of round 1, Opponent's Carrion Shade, Life Sapper, Soul Strangler and Death Elemental all dies due to Blast and damage from Deeplurker.

Round 2

Round 2 End.jpg

By end of Round 2, Silent Sha-Vi only lives and all of my creatures still lives.

Round 3

Round 3 End.jpg

Game ended at Round 3. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to highlight how strong Stampede and Trample is but I've seen games where one death from the tank goes all the way back to the last guy from Stampede.

Final Remarks

Diemonshark is really a card to watch out for in the future. By that, I mean I am expecting awesome combos using this card as the forefront. It's really strong and a good stats for a tank. I really like this card, therefore, this would be the first one we'll check after Chaos Legion drops.
