A really close battle between the army of fire and the servants of darkness. You can see who won the battle by clicking this link: https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=sl_fbc019bbf9d008b75aeb1c2b05570dfa

Summoner: Mimosa Nightshade

Mimosa Nightshade is the soul of this composition. The main goal of this composition is to have a cheap build with a tank that can counter almost all of the other elements. Mimosa Nightshade may have high mana cost but she compensates by giving a -1 range debuff, and affliction to all enemies while giving a powerful Void buff to all your creatures.

These are very important to the core strategy of the build. Affliction is also an underrated ability. It counters most of the strong tank combinations out there that provides heal or tank heal to survive. Some examples are the Kraken + Crustacean king combo for Water, the Unicorn Mustang + Wood Nymph for Earth, Shieldbearer + Divine Healer for Light.

Mimosa Nightshade also directly counters the Dragon Summoner Byzantine Kitty. She is a really flexible and really cheap summoner to rent specially for new players.

Tank: Chain Golem

While Mimosa Nightshade is the soul, I consider Chain golem as the heart. With an attack of 3, armor of 4 and health of 7, he is almost on par with Kraken in terms of tankiness.

Here's more.

Chain Golem is a neutral monster with a shield ability. Shield is the counterpart of void ability. Shield reduces damage of melee and range by half or makes them 0 if the melee or range is 1. Void, on the otherhand cuts magic damage by half, and makes all 1 damage 0.

With Mimosa's -1 range debuff, Opponents requires a range damage of 3 in order to inflict 1 damage to Chain Golem. Since Mimosa also provides void ability to chain golem, opponent requires minimum magic damage of 2 to inflict 1 damage to Chain Golem. These are really strong effects as Void is also applied to every ally.

Mimosa Nightshade + Chain Golem are the Core of the strategy and requires combined mana of 15 to use. However, they are very potent combo as these two alone can win games by themselves.

The other supporting monsters are all optional. In my personal opinion, I use these cards:

Twisted Jester,

Death Elemental,

and Mantoid

Since all of them have snipe ability. Snipe targets ranged, magic or no attack that is not in the first position. These creatures takes care of those pesky debuffs the opponents might have which then allows your Chain Golem to carry the game.

I won a lot of games with this combo and it's a good pocket choice to have when your choices of options are limited.
