Hello everyone! Its time for another Splinterlands battle challenge. We don't have a specific featured monster card for this week, instead we need to use any Dragon card in our lineup.
Challenge Rules
THEME: DRAGONS
Edition: ANY
Rarity: ANY
Element: DRAGON + ANY
ATTACK: ANY
ABILITIES: ANY
I only have few dragon cards in my inventory so we'll instead feature the Dragon Summoner Drake of Arnak and use a Dragon monster in our lineup then use its ability to win this battle.
Battle Ruleset
Standard: No modification to the standard gameplay rules and mechanics.
Lineup Strategy
We'll use this summoner to add 1 Armor to our team as well as to get access to our Dragon cards. We'll be using a Dragon+Life Splinter lineup.
The only Dragon monster in our lineup. We'll take advantage of its Thorns ability. A tank monster with this ability can damage several enemy monsters when hit with a Melee attack since it does damage back to the attacker. Melee and Ranged attackers will also need to go through a big chunk of armor before damaging this card's health.
We're using this card because of its Slow ability that reduces the Speed of all enemy Monsters. Its placed on the 2nd position to act as a backup tank just in case Djinn Chwala goes out before the battle ends.
We'll utilize its Sneak ability to eliminate low health monsters positioned at the back of our opponent's lineup.
This card's Opportunity ability will give as an edge on eliminating low health monsters on any position as long as this card is able to attack it.
The Snipe ability that this card has an increased chance of eliminating our opponent's key cards since this card targets enemy Monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position.
Last but not the least is Pelacor Conjurer. We're placing it on the last position to protect our team from Sneak attacks. Its Flying ability also increases its chance of evading attacks from Melee or Ranged non-flying monsters.

Our opponent decided to use a Magic attack lineup with an additional 1 Magic damage to all friendly monsters boosted by the chosen summoner Obsidian.
Djinn Chwala, Celestial Harpy and Stitch Leech consecutively eliminated three enemy monsters on Round 1. This left our opponent in a tough position leaving two monsters to fight our lineup this early in the match.
Lone Boatman was able to eliminate an enemy monster on Round 2. Only the enemy tank monster is remaining on our opponent's lineup. Although its health is still high, it surely will not last long facing six monsters on our side of the battlefield.
Djinn Chawala used its Thorns ability as soon as it got hit and struck the last hit afterwards eliminating the remaining enemy monster and claiming victory on this battle!!!
Conclusion
Since our opponent chose a lineup mostly dealing Magic damage, we were not able to fully utilize the Thorns ability of Djinn Chwala. However, having monsters with abilities targeting specific positions or conditions, such as Sneak, Opportunity and Snipe, gave us the advantage we needed to win this battle.
Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
The plan of using the +1 armor given by our Summoner Drake of Arnak and utilizing the Thorns ability of Djinn Chwala did not work as planned since our opponent used a Magic attack lineup. However, our team was able to utilize other abilities to our advantage, such as Sneak, Opportunity and Snipe, eliminating low health monsters not on the 1st position. Loosing those monsters severely lowered the enemy team's attack power and gave our team an easy win on the last two rounds.
Do you like DRAGONS? Why or why not?
I like using Dragons particularly Drake of Arnak as Summoner and Djinn Chwala as tank since their combination gives our team a sturdy tank with a huge chunk of armor plus a Thorns ability that hits back on its Melee attackers.
That's all for now folks. I hope you enjoyed our featured battle for this week. Have a great weekend!!!
What is Splinterlands?
Splinterlands is a digital, collectible card game built on blockchain technology. It is similar in concept to games like Magic the Gathering and Heartstone where you build up a collection of cards, which all have various different stats and abilities, and use them to battle other players in skill-based matches. By using a blockchain technology, players can buy, sell and trade their digital assets freely just as if they were physical cards, and all transactions are recorded publicly and immutably.
