Splinterlands Battle Challenge - Centaur

in #splinterlands2 years ago

How's it been fellow Splinterlands fans? We have another Battle Challenge for this week. Our featured card is one of the few Neutral Monsters that I often use when I need to squeeze in a low mana card to complete my lineup. We'll try to take advantage of its ability in this battle.

Lineup Strategy

Summoner: Tarsa

We're going to use a lineup of monsters mostly using Melee attack so this card's buff will further boost our team's attack power.

Tank: Living Lava

This card's Shield ability that reduces damage from Melee and Ranged attacks gives it a high chance of lasting longer in battle protecting our team from attacks at the front.

Tenyii Striker

This will be our backup tank. Aside from its high health of 6, it also has the Sneak ability. We'll use this skill to eliminate our opponent's key cards sitting at the last position.

Serpentine Spy

One of my favorite cards in the Fire Splinter. Its Opportunity ability that allows it to attack from any position and target the enemy monster with the lowest health is very useful in removing damage dealers that have high attack power but are low on health.

Fire Elemental

We're going to use this card because of its Blast ability that does additional damage to monsters adjacent to the target monster.

Centaur

Last but not the least is our featured card, Centaur. We've placed it on the last position to protect Fire Elemental from Sneak attacks. Its Snipe ability will also be useful in eliminating Ranged, Magic, or no attack monsters that are low on health and not in the first position.

Our opponent used the same Summoner and a lineup that's a bit similar to ours. This will be quite a challenging battle.

Serpentine Spy was able to eliminate its counter part on our opponent's team in Round 1.

Serpentine Spy and Centaur were able to eliminate 2 enemy monsters in Round 2. However, Centaur also died in this round.

We lost 2 more monsters, including our tank monster, in Round 3. Our opponent now has more monsters on the battlefield.

Tenyii Striker and Serpentine Spy were able to eliminate 2 enemy monsters in Round 4. Tenyii Striker will now be our tank, good thing it still has a few health remaining that can prevent it from dying from critical hits.

Serpentine Spy was able to land a critical hit on our opponent's remaining monster in Round 5 gaining victory for our team!!!

Conclusion

It was a challenging battle since we had the same Summoner and almost the same lineup. Having 2 Ranged attack monsters gave us the advantage in winning this battle. Their Blast and Snipe abilities helped in reducing the health of enemy monsters in our opponent's lineup. And with Serpentine Spy eliminating those low health monsters, victory were just a few rounds away.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

Our strategy of using Melee attack monsters did not help that much because our opponent had a similar lineup. But adding 2 Ranged monsters in our lineup made the big difference.

Do you like the CENTAUR? Why or why not?

I like using Centaur in low to medium mana limit matches. A low mana cost monster with the Snipe ability is pretty cool for a Neutral monster.

That's all we have for now. I hope you liked it. Happy Holidays!!!

What is Splinterlands?

Splinterlands is a digital, collectible card game built on blockchain technology. It is similar in concept to games like Magic the Gathering and Heartstone where you build up a collection of cards, which all have various different stats and abilities, and use them to battle other players in skill-based matches. By using a blockchain technology, players can buy, sell and trade their digital assets freely just as if they were physical cards, and all transactions are recorded publicly and immutably.
