Hello everyone. How's your weekend been doing so far? Its another Battle Challenge week and our featured card is Centauri Mage. This is my first time using this card. Let's see how it goes..

ABILITIES: Return Fire at level 1
Battle Ruleset
Healed Out: No type of healing is allowed in the battle. So, abilities like Tank Heal, Triage, Heal are rendered useless. This de-buff cannot be removed by using Cleanse. Summoners Like Byzantine Kitty, Scarred Llama and Chanseus The Great cannot perform Heal and Cleanse either.
Lost Legendaries: Legendary Monsters can't be used. Legendary Summoners are still available though.
Lineup Strategy
I often use Crowling whenever I can when using a Forest Splinter lineup. Its Thorns ability is a great advantage against enemy monsters with Melee attack. When hit with a Melee attack, friendly monsters return damage back to the attacker.
We'll be using our featured card as a tank because of its high health of 9. Its Return Fire ability that gets activated when hit with a Ranged attack, returns reduced damage back to their attacker can be an advantage if our opponent uses Ranged attack monsters.
This card is our damage dealer in this lineup. Its Sneak ability targets the last Monster on the enemy Team instead of the first Monster. Since this is a low mana battle, our opponent will probably have its damage dealer placed on the last slot which is a perfect target for this card.
We'll be using this card to protect our damage dealer from sneak attacks. Its high health of 6 can take a few hits and with Crowling's Thorns ability, it can return damage back to enemy monsters attacking it that uses Melee attack.

The opponent has the upper hand on this battle. He used a tank with a Shield ability that receives reduced damage from Melee and Ranged attacks. He also used 2 Magic attack monsters which doesn't trigger Centauri Mage and Crowling's abilities. Good thing the enemy Goblin Thief uses Melee attack. It was damaged by the Thorns ability placed on Earth Elemental by our summoner after it attacked.
We were able to kill 2 enemy monsters on Round 2. Although Earth Elemental died from the enemy Goblin Thief's attack, it was able to return 2 damage to it, thanks to its Thorns ability, which was enough to kill the enemy monster.
Our damage dealer was able to kill the enemy monster placed on the last slot on Round 3. Thanks to its Sneak ability we now only have the tank enemy monster left on our opponent's battlefield.
It took us 2 more rounds to finally kill the last enemy monster because it received reduced damage from Goblin Thief.
Conclusion
Our opponent had the advantage in this battle because of its tank and 2 monsters using Magic attack. But we were able to turn things around by Round 2 because of Goblin Thief and Earth Elemental. This of course would not be possible without Cantauri Mage tanking our team and protecting our damage dealer.
Although we did not see Centauri Mage's Return Fire ability in action, I think its a good tank because of its high health of 9. It also uses Magic attack so it can directly damage the enemy tank monster's health without worrying about its armor.
I'm going to try and use Centauri Mage on my next battles to see how well it plays with other Forest Splinter cards. I've rented it for a week so I have a lot of time to experiment on how to effectively use it. Till next time fellow Splinterlands fans. Have great weekend!!!
