Splinterlands Battle Challenge - Shadow Snitch

in #splinterlands3 years ago

Hello Splinterlands fans. Our featured card of the week is one of the new ones that came with the Chaos Legion set. Although I don't use this card often, we'll try to fit it in my usual Death Splinter lineup and see if it can help us win our featured match for today.

Battle Ruleset

Mana Limit: 30

Broken Arrows: No monsters with ranged will be available to choose from.

Lineup & Strategy

Summoner: Thaddius Brood

Our opponent is fond of using a Magic attack lineup boosted by the summoner Obsidian. We're going to use Thaddius Brood to counter that by applying -1 Magic attack on all enemy monsters and also reduce their Health by 1.

=1st Position=
Tank: Cursed Windeku

We're using this card as our tank just in case our opponent decides to use a Melee attack tank monster. The Torns ability of this card will return damage back to its Melee attackers.

=2nd Position=
Shadow Snitch

We'll be using our featured card as our backup tank. We're also placing it in the 2nd position to allow it to do Melee damage using its Reach ability.

=3rd Position=
Maggots

Were placing this card at the middle of our lineup to protect it from frontal and sneak attacks. Its Opportunity ability will be useful in eliminating enemy monsters that are low on health.

=4th Position=
Boogeyman

We've added one Magic attack monster on our lineup to help in eliminating the enemy tank faster since Magic damage ignores armor. It also has the Slow ability that reduces the Speed of all enemy monsters.

=5th Position=
Undead Badger

We're also using a Sneak attack monster to eliminate enemy monsters positioned at the back of our opponent's lineup.

=5th Position=
Silent Sha-vi

Last but not the least in our lineup is a bigger Sneak attack monster. Its 2 Melee damage can definitely do critical hits on monsters that are low on Health lying around the back of our opponent's team.

As we've anticipated, our opponent used a Magic attack lineup buffed with +1 Magic damage from Obsidian.

Our team made a superb series of attacks eliminating 3 enemy monsters on Round 1. Our Sneak attack monsters were able to do critical hits on 2 enemy monsters at the backline eliminating them instantly.

We lost Maggots on Round 2 after it was targeted by the enemy monster that has the Opportunity ability. It was immediately removed from the battlefield since it only had 1 health.

Cursed Windeku was able to eliminate the enemy tank using its Torns ability after receiving Melee damage from it. It also died after that attack since it was already low on health. Boogeyman was also able to eliminate another enemy monster on Round 3.

Boogeyman landed the last hit on the remaining enemy monster bringing home the bacon on Round 4.

Conclusion

Using the Sneak and Opportunity abilities in our lineup really paid off as we've seen at the start of Round 1. Our team immediately eliminated 2 enemy monsters placed at the backline in one swoop since they had low health.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

Splitting our team's attack on both the front and back of our opponent's lineup worked perfectly as we've seen in Round 1. While Cursed Windeku, Shadow Snitch and Boogeyman are busy attacking the enemy monster on the 1st position, we have our Sneak monsters attacking at the back.

Do you like the SHADOW SNITCH? Why or why not?

A level 1 Shadow Snitch would not be useful on my usual Death Splinter lineup since it does not have that much damage compared to other monsters of the same Mana Cost. However, its level 6 version with the Affliction ability would be a better option since it can prevent its target from being healed if successfully applied.

That's all for now folks. Thanks for taking time on reading my post. Till the next Splinterlands Battle Challenge. Have a great day!!!

What is Splinterlands?

Splinterlands is a digital, collectible card game built on blockchain technology. It is similar in concept to games like Magic the Gathering and Heartstone where you build up a collection of cards, which all have various different stats and abilities, and use them to battle other players in skill-based matches. By using a blockchain technology, players can buy, sell and trade their digital assets freely just as if they were physical cards, and all transactions are recorded publicly and immutably.
