in #splinterlands3 years ago

Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing fine today. It's time for another Battle Challenge. Our featured card this week is from the Life Splinter. Let's try utilizing it in our lineup today and win this battle.

Challenge Rules

THEME: TIME MAGE

Edition: CHAOS LEGION
Rarity: RARE
Element: LIFE
Attack: MAGIC
Abilities: Slow

Battle Ruleset

Mana Limit: 21

Standard: No modification to the standard gameplay rules and mechanics.

Lineup Strategy

Summoner:
Drake of Arnak

We're going to use this Summoner to get access to our tank monster from the Dragon Splinter and also for the +1 Armor buff it adds to our team.

Tank:
Djinn Chwala

This card's Thorns ability will be very useful against melee attackers as it returns damage back to Melee attackers when hit. It also has a high amount of Health and Armor.

Time Mage

Our featured card is on the 2nd position. Its Slow ability will give our team a higher chance of attacking first at the start of each round since it lowers the Speed of all enemy monsters.

Venari Crystalsmith

On the 3rd position is our Tank Healer who will increase our tank's presence on the battlefield by healing a portion its Health each round.

Gargoya Scrapper

At the last position in our lineup is Gargoya Scrapper. Although it cannot attack at this position, it will protect our Tank Healer from Sneak attacks.

Our opponent decided to use a Death Splinter lineup with a Summoner that lowers Magic attack and Health on all enemy monsters. The enemy tank also has the Thorns ability. Good thing only few of our team uses Melee attack.

We lost Gargoya Scrapper after it was attacked by two enemy monsters with the Sneak ability. The enemy tank is not looking so good with just 3 Health remaining at the end of Round 1.

Djinn Chwala was able to eliminate the enemy tank on Round 2. However, it s not looking so good with only 2 Health remaining at the end of Round 2.

Although Djinn Chwala died in Round 3, it was able to eliminate three enemy monsters. One from a normal attack and the other two were from its Thorns ability. Our opponent is now left with a Ranged attack monster sitting at the 1st position not able to attack.

Venari Crystalsmith threw the last hit on Round 4, instantly killing the remaining enemy monster and claiming victory in this matchup!!!

Conclusion

Our featured card of the week did a good job of reducing the Speed and lowering the Health of enemy monsters using its Magic attack. The Thorns ability of Djinn Chwala also gave us the big advantage in this fight since our opponent had four Melee attack monsters.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

Using Djinn Chwala as our tank monster and having a Tank Healer in our team worked great. Its Thorns ability was very useful against Melee attackers.

Do you like TIME MAGE? Why or why not?

I like using Time Mage in Medium to High mana battles. Since it uses Magic attack, it can be placed on any position on the battlefield.

I hope you enjoyed watching our featured matchup today. Till next time fellow Splinterlands fans. Have a great weekend!!!

What is Splinterlands?

Splinterlands is a digital, collectible card game built on blockchain technology. It is similar in concept to games like Magic the Gathering and Heartstone where you build up a collection of cards, which all have various different stats and abilities, and use them to battle other players in skill-based matches. By using a blockchain technology, players can buy, sell and trade their digital assets freely just as if they were physical cards, and all transactions are recorded publicly and immutably.
