Greetings ++Splinterlands++ Summoners! The classic weekly battle challenge retired to make way for the Battle Mage Secrets series, making it more entertaining. This new set-up adds a focus on dynamic strategies, as players will be able to choose from a greater selection of more diverse units to bring into battle.
Let's enjoy the **Unprotected **battle-rule, where all armor is removed from units and none can be gained. The Shield and Divine Shield abilities are are unaffected, leaving space for some strong melee dynamics.
I always like to be protected, in every aspect of life. I will wear safety gear when I am required to do it, I will use PPE when handling radioactive waste, and will use those cute oven mittens when taking my roasted chicken from the oven.
However, sometimes too much protection can be detrimental. Just imagine the huge ogre being wrapped in bubbles for extra protection, or the fire casting witches using the same cute oven mittens!
Safety first... they said! But how can you ask the Molten Ogre to play nicely? Believe it or not... he's our designated safety officer! The will use Demoralize to create a safe work environment. But not sure Tarsa will listen... she likes to play with fire!
Lost Magic made this battle easier, as I didn't have to worry about spellcasters. The focus was on overpowering my brawlers, and giving them more close combat power.
Tarsa: +1 Health & +1 Melee Attack
Molten Ogre: Melee with Demoralize
Serpentine Spy: Melee with Opportunity
Tenyii Striker: Melee with Sneak
Lava Launcher: Ranged with Close Range
Sand Worm: Melee with Sneak
Pyromancer: Ranged with Blast
The battle plan was straight-forward... do more damage than my opponent! Tarsa was used to boost both the health and the melee damage of the unites, while the Molten Ogre will reduce the melee of the enemies.
The Molten Ogre takes his Safety Officer job seriously, and makes sure that none of the workers will be able to deliver deadly blows with their weapons. He has nothing against severed limbs or maiming, as long as is not leading to death at work!
On the other hand, Tarsa likes to take the fire checks to the limits, involving both the Lava Launcher and the Pyromancer in the fire drills! If it doesn't melt... is good stuff!
I diversified the monster's ability, hoping that five different ones will create a lethal combo. My opponent went for Thaddius Brood to reduce my health, without much impact in the game.
Three days of "No-death at work" were ruined when the Serpentine Spy took care of Uraeus. There's no honor among snakes! The death toll escalated quickly, with the Pyromancer joining the Damphir Stalker on the dance floor... for the coffin dance!
Harklaw was next on the list! He was called into the office to be told off for breaking employment law! Coming at work covered in runes is not permitted, and the use of Shield is border-line illegal!
The Lava Launcher was randomly selected to share the bad news... as Harklaw was told that his service is no longer needed. This created a mini-riot, as one Sand Worm took upon another!
The Arachne Thug had a strong argument with Safety Officer Molten Ogre, while handling his resignation! "You have snakes on the plane Orge.... watch your back!... he hissed while leaving the building!
He was rights about that, as a sneaky sneak sneaked upon the Ogre's back and stabbed him between the shoulder plates! How demoralizing was that!
With no Safety Marshall around, the riot escalated! The Serpentine Spy was slicing and dicing under the scaffolds, while the Lava Launcher was... launching lava!
The buildings where collapsing around, and the foreman will not be happy when he will inspect the site! Charred snake skin everywhere, molten lava dripping from the ceiling, and ... no workers left alive! See the full battle here!
