RE: Splinterlands Free Legendary Card Winner + Bonus Winners & Announcement of Our Next Giveaway!

The market cap was always going to take a significant drop at some point. However I am surprised its potentially happening already. My reasoning for that thought is UNTAMED is still new and many of the cards in its edition are listed and selling for well over their DEC value causing an inflated market cap.

Short term prediction: Eventually allot of these UNTAMED cards will find their true value which I believe in today's market is less then what they're currently listed for. The value of these or any cards in the long term is anyone's guess.

Sort:

I am just surprised as I have seen some of the prices on untamed rise since they were released. And I thought with the release of the golems that the cap would grow more at 5 and 50 for normal and gold foil. I was surprised when I saw that it was down on today's post. Had to go back and verify we had lost by revisiting your post 2 days ago.

I was surprised to see the drop as well. I had the same thought process as you with the Golems being released. I know the overall Beta Market has been dropping. I loosely been keeping track using my Beta collection value as the starting point.

I don't have the numbers in front of me but looking at my collections value I would estimate that my Beta cards lost about $500 of value out of a $6000* collection.

We are also starting to see some 3 cent untamed commons and I suspect the majority of the UNTAMED commons will follow that trend and at some point be closer to 1 cent. Again that's a short term guess / Long term I have no clue what the value of these cards might be.

I think untamed can fall more because untamed has less DEC value than beta cards.

Its certainly a possibility.
