In today’s post I will be talking about one aspect of Splinterlands gameplay which is neglected by many players.
It is a pity as brawling along with your Guild is free of cost and helps you level up your Gladiator cards which are super awesome and free.
What Exactly are Gladiator Cards?
Gladiators are a special set of cards that can be purchased via packs from the Store of your Guild. Each Gladius pack that contains 5 Gladiator cards can be purchased for 2,000 merits.
Like any other pack the Gladius pack will also at minimum contain 1 rare card. On your lucky days you will be blessed with Epic and Legendary cards and on super lucky days with multiple Epic or Legendaries.
These Gladiators can be used in the Brawl matches and also if you use a summoner with the Conscript ability you will be able to use a Gladiator in a regular Wild or Modern match as well.
In fact I know many players who use Gladiator card in each of the match they play.
The reason for their popularity is that all Gladiators are blessed with the Bloodlust ability which increases all their stats after each kill. After a couple of kills a Gladiator becomes an unstoppable monster, unless of course your opponent has a stronger Gladiator.
There are 32 Gladiator cards in total. I hold 30 of them as I am yet to get my hands on Fina Voxom and Jini Guise despite Brawling for ages.
Fina Voxom is a card I am desperately waiting for as I have seen what she can do when my opponents use it.
My target for the coming months is to achieve the following:
-Complete my Gladiator collection
-Level up Common Gladiators to Level 6
-Level up Rare Gladiators to Level 4
-Level up Epic Gladiators to Level 3
-Level up Legendary Gladiators to Level 2
Leveling up Gladiators makes them even more dangerous specially the Epic and Legendary ones. The catch is they are very difficult to obtain and very rarely your Gladius pack will contain one.
How to Get these Gladiator Cards?
The only way to get the Gladius packs is through the Store in your Guild. SO this means you need to do the following to make sure you keep collecting up and levelling up those awesome Gladiators:
1. Join A Guild- If you don’t join a guild you won’t have access to Guild which will mean you can’t get Gladius packs. This is the only way as currently Gladiator cards are soul bound and there is no mechanism allowed to unbind them and sell on the market. So you have to grind hard to get them. It is better to join an active guild that takes their brawls seriously as the merits you get after each brawl depends on how active your fellow Guild members are.
2. Brawl Regularly- Once you have joined a good active Guild you need to make sure you participate on the brawls regularly. Now I give priority to Brawls even over the regular season matches. If I am busy I may not spend time on my Modern matches but I will make sure I put up my teams for the on-going brawl. My rationale is that at some point Gladius packs will be stopped and then there will be no way to get hold of these monstrous Gladiators.
3. Get Extra Glint from Shop- You will receive some Glint from your rewards chests from the Regular Ranked battles as well. Also if you need a bit extra you can purchase it through the Glint you have collected. My target is to open at least 8-10 Gladius packs every season of 15 days.
