This is my entry for the weekly Splinterlands contest found HERE
Here is the original card art:
Created in Clip Studio Paint Pro on a Microsoft Surface Pro 7+. Here is the timelapse video:

And here is the step-by-step drawing process.
Step One: Rough draft. I use a 40 px pastel pencil to block out the rough shape, then refine it a bit with a regular pencil tool
Step Two: Line art with a thin G-Pen in black
Step Three: Flat color layer. Hide the rough layer and mostly used the Fill Paint tool for the base color layer
Step Four: Shading! Made a clipped multiply layer and just filled in sections with two shades of grey. Also added an outline of pink to the entire layer to create the shadow terminator
Step Five: Made a Lighten layer over the shading layer for some reflected light highlights
Step Six: Dunk her underwater. Just started with a gradient layer in the background then moved the paint around with watercolor brushes. Also made a layer on top with some white watercolor splashes to make ocean currents
Step Seven: Sign it
Step Eight: Profit!
Thanks for scrolling all the way to the end.
Coastal Sentry is my favourite, Melee monster, especially in Reach, Super Sneak, and Melee Myhem ruleset. It's double strike, piercing, pretty Melee attack, speed, and armor make it more strong.
Your drawing skill is great. Really appreciate it. This drawing reminds me about Hollywood character Avaatar.
Thank you, I appreciate the complement. Everyone could use a good coastal sentry in their life. :)
