More New Reward Cards Revealed!

We're back with three more new Reward Edition cards to reveal! If you missed the first three, you can check them out in this post: New Reward Cards & Tournament Updates.

All of the new Reward Edition cards are scheduled to be added into the game on Monday, June 29th around 9 - 10 AM ET, and there are planned to be 14 new cards in total, so stay tuned to our blog for additional reveals!

Sand Worm

The Sand Worm will bring terror to your opponent's back line in high mana cap battles. It is the first high mana cost monster with the Sneak ability, and as a neutral card you might encounter it anywhere and at any time (assuming the ruleset allows it, of course!).

Additionally, it gets the Snare and Piercing abilities at higher levels to help it smash through armor and take down pesky fliers.

Huge Sand Worms have always lived in the desert of Draykh-Nahka, but with the recent uncovering of the various Untamed Prophecies, they have mysteriously grown even larger. They have also become more wild and free, somehow discovering how to escape from the Sands of the Dragon Splinter. Although it has never been witnessed, biologists believe that the Worms have learned how to swim. If they have indeed learned to burrow through water like sand, the Splinterlands will suffer greatly from their proliferation. In Mount Mox battle, Sand Worms can swallow monsters of nearly any size with no need to chew. They can even snatch fliers directly from the air, extending out of the ground even higher than the arena walls.

Silvershield Sheriff

The Silvershield Sheriff should be a nice addition to the Life Splinter in higher mana cap battles. He picks off enemies who are up to no good using the Snipe ability, his crossbow Pierces through armor, and at higher levels he also Protects his allies!

The horseback Sheriffs of Khymeria are tasked with enforcing Khymian law, especially in the places known for being riddled with dissenting Peacebringers. These horse-riding lawfolk live solitary lives with few friends. As they patrol through the streets of Khymian towns and villages, they are often pelted with rotten vegetables and told to “go back to Cloudgard!” Contrary to popular opinion (which is seeded by the Peacebringers), Silvershield Sheriffs are usually upstanding protectors of Khymian peace and freedom. They must have a strong moral character (and true aim) to put up with such abuse from those they protect.

Fineas Rage

Fineas Rage is a strong new addition to the Fire Splinter. With the Reach ability he can attack from the second position in a battle and with his high health and Retaliate ability he can serve as a great back-up tank to give more depth to a Fire Splinter line-up.

But most of you are probably just wondering what the new scary looking monster dude ability is. The Splinterlands team is excited to introduce the new "Oppress" ability, which will be featured on a few of the new Reward Edition monsters and on additional cards going forward.

Monsters with the Oppress ability will do double damage to any targets that have no attack!

Fineas is a young warrior who lives alone in the outskirts of the Burning Lands’ Smoldering Forest. He moved from Lyveria some years ago when he was only a boy, knowing that the expert combat training for which he was destined was only available in the Fire Splinter. Quickly after settling in the burning woods, he joined up with the martial scrappers of Balfair. Once he learned everything he could from these rugged Human and Goblin fighters, Fineas retreated to his own treehouse as more teacher than student. Today he practices his skills only on the Mount Mox battlefield, where his whip whistles, cracks and sings with boundless fury.

Stay tuned for more updates from the Splinterlands!

Looks like Cube and Lord A have an incredibly viable counter. :)

Failed summoner won't like this either.

Failed summoner won't face it one is in high mans one in low

I use him in high mana matches. Not crazy high, but 30-40.
Right up the front in case of Fallen Spectre, or some other card vulnerable to magic reflect. He'll take a decent hit or two with all that life, more if Demoralise reduces their melee attacks. Like a pre-tank, so my main tank can step up all shiny and fresh.

In Earthquake
Wave runner (tank)
Mantoid (snipe)
Dragon Jumper (opportunist)
Sandworm (sneak)

Strip all their flying away and let the earthquake do the rest.

nice idea but those cards will also not survive long in earthquake, extra tower needed or something

Their deaths can feed the cube. All hail the cube.
NB: Dragon Jumper has flying. He can pick off the wounded. They, too can feed the cube.

Ah yes, all hail the cube, last monster standing, cool, can't wait to try it

last monster wobbling you mean?

Correct! Double wobble because of the earthquake!

Awesome new Cards!
Just translated the Post and shared the great News with the German Community:

@tipu curate

Excellent guys, thanks for sharing

Dune!!! I like them all, very cool cards :)

I see The Oppress ability as a way to counter the overpowered No attack cards like LORD ARIANTHUS and GELATINOUS CUBE.

Loved every single on of 'em but Fineas is the most awesome one! Fire Splinter fanboy here! Hehehe!
Great work @splinterlands team

This is beautiful

Very nice! Are there going to be lower mana cards? All of the new monsters cost high mana and I think lower mana monsters would be important too.

:reply:
Definitely game changing monsters. More dumping and investing ahead of us all.
Cheers!

Wow! Nice monsters! But poor cube :( Oppress will be quite devastating on it

Loving the sand worm can’t wait to get my hands on some of these new cards

They do look like quite powerful cards for high mana fights.

Very cool new ability!

That new ability is some kind of nerf for lord A. tank card. Yeeey

Sandworm's going to shake things up. I've been enjoying Fire Spitter in last position in No magic matches; as he's so difficult to hit. Sandworm will one-shot him.

Yeah, actually I can't figure out a good defense against him.. 7 melee piercing is huge! Of course some retaliating monster can kill him, but always a risk of wasting mana..

Demoralize combos... Or maybe a retaliating opportunist!

Will se.. I think next monsters will be more defensive.. This ones will rock in high mana!

Nectar Queen, Serpent of the Flame. If a retaliator can get some poison into him you might survive.

Yeah but 50% prob of retaliate and 50% of poisoning makes 25% of this stuff succeed..

For those of us with a current win rate under 25% though :)

Ahahah would also be a nice gif ;)

Always fun to see the new designs and feature sets they have.

Loving the new oppress ability. Should level the playing field against a particularly overused neutral card that's often in the front...

Hey Load A and Cube Sherrif is coming....

Nice, a new counter to those annoying Lord Arianthus front lines!

wish to get it, in season ending

FINALLY!!! An answer to the LORD JESUS! with the new Oppress ability!!!

Cant wait to get my hands on some of these cards.
Really excited XD
