Chromatic Dragon - Splinterlands Character Profile

in #splinterlands4 years ago (edited)

Five Dragon heads, frightful ten Dragon eyes,
Are all trained on you, ere you meet your demise.
A snarl of smoke and a flap of a wing,
You're now in its clutches, a Dragon's plaything.

Chromatic Dragon

Splinter -Draykh-Nahka

Set - Alpha/Beta

Class - Legendary Dragon

Size - Even though it has five heads, the Beast known as the Chromatic Dragon is smaller than the average Lightning Dragon. Because it walks on two legs instead of four, the Chromatic Dragon stands fully erect taller than any of the other Dragons. 1100 chickens.

Lifespan - Unlike the “natural” Dragons of Draykh-Nahka, the Chromatic Dragon was created through a horrific series of operations and experiments. This was part of a secret Gloridax program about 50 years ago that sought to build Dragons in an attempt to protect the life of the species. The Chromatic Dragon was built incredibly strong and built to last, but it is already showing signs of aging and decay. The beast is not as fast as it used to be, and wounds no longer heal as quickly as they once did.

Habitat - The Chromatic Dragon lives in some unknown area of Draykh-Nahka, where it always keeps to itself, except when summoned to Tournament battle. In the Dragon Splinter, authorities have repeatedly and consistently denied the existence of the Chromatic Dragon, saying that it was no more than a rumor. These reports are easy to debunk however by anyone who attends a Mount Mox Tournament and sees the Dragon flexing its muscles.

Weapon - Each head of the Chromatic Dragon was designed to bring to the table a different type of magic attack. The Ice Head can freeze the very air with its breath. The Fire Head produces the most impressive (and explosive) fireballs of any monster in the Splinterlands. The shining white Life Head, which was designed to heal the other heads, turned out to be a dud, so now it just sits there looking pretty and being bullied by the other heads. The Earth Head spits a deadly venom with the power of a fire hose, and the Death Head radiates visible waves of fear toward its enemies. None of the heads’ powers are ever used against one another, but the five heads are always nipping and bickering at each other. There is almost no way to land an attack against the Chromatic Dragon and get away unscathed.

Diet - Most Dragons of Draykh-Nahka are provided for from the Gloridax coffers, but the Chromatic Dragon is always left on its own. The Dragon Masters would perhaps have been better off giving the thing food, because almost nightly it raids at least one of the Brynn livestock fields, leaving a bloody field of Bunglo destruction.

Allies - Most of Gloridax society is aware of the Chromatic Dragon’s existence; the propaganda stating it is a myth is meant more for the common people. Still, most high-class Dragonfolk see the Chromatic Dragon as something of a taboo. It may have been created, but it was a mistake and it is certainly not something to be spoken about by “civilized” Dragons. The only person in Draykh-Nahka who has sought out the Chromatic Dragon with the intention of becoming its friend is Bila the Radiant, the beloved Dragon Priestess. Once she found the lair of the Dragon, Bila discovered that not only is it generally peaceful, but intelligent beyond her wildest expectations. She has now spent countless hours in the shallow hole where it lives, exchanging stories with the Chromatic Dragon. It is fascinating to her how each head has a different voice and personality.

Enemies - Once the experiment that created the Chromatic Dragon was abandoned and deemed a failure, the Gloridax decided to spin the beast into a mythical enemy for their people. That was nearly 60 years ago, and now those who believe in the existence of the Chromatic Dragon believe it to be vicious killer of which their children should be afraid. The Gloridax have always created enemies for their people, to distract them from the true enemies, who usually hide in plain sight.

Pastimes - The Chromatic Dragon hates the way that its body was pieced together. While most Dragons have thousands of years of solid evolution behind their designs, the Chromatic Dragon was more of an experiment carried out by flawed scientists. With all of its ire for living a life of such discomfort and suffering, the Dragon is never alone. It can always spend its time in conversation with itself, but when others are around it is very careful to not be overheard.
