The 2 ranged attack is nice for a 3 mana monster. He could be knocked out quick with an opportunity monster having only 2 health however. I think there are absolutely some niche uses for Soul Strangler depending battle conditions.

I often field one or two single hit point monsters as meat shields for everything else, if I have the mana to spare.
