Briar Patch: Weekly Battle Mage Secrets!

• All units receive the Thorns ability at the start of the battle. Enemy units that use melee attacks receive damage back.
• Damage returned is equal to damage of the attacker divided by 2, rounded up.
• Melee attack units with the Reflection Shield ability do not take damage from thorns.
• The Amplify ability increases damage.

For this week the rule is briar patch. Briar patch is all unit grants the thorns ability. Thorns When hit with a Melee attack, does 2 damage back to the attacker. To avoid the effects of thorns, do not use monsters with melee attacks, or use monsters with the reflection shield ability if you want to use a melee attacker.Sometimes,

There's a rule where Briar Patch and Up Close & Personal are combined. The strategy I use here is to employ monsters with shield abilities to reduce thorn damage. It's also possible to avoid using melee attackers with high damage because the greater the damage, the more significant the damage you'll receive from thorns with each attack. Using monsters with high armor can also help, preventing the thorn damage from directly affecting life in every attack. For an offensive attack, you can use a monster with Amplify to increase the damage of thorns. You can also use a monster with two attacks.

Below are monsters with a reflection shield that you can use if Briar Patch and Up Close & Personal are combined.

MY BATTLE

The Battle condition is 13 mana caps The only element that you can not use in the battle is death. ruleset born again.

I chose Thaddius Brood to provide an additional +1 life to all units. Since the elements that can be used are earth and death, it's possible that he will use magic. That's why it is advisable to use Thaddius Brood to reduce magic damage by -1.

BATTLE LINE-UP

1st Position

CHAOS AGENT - No attack unit with dodge ability. To dodge possible range attack

2nd Position

CHAOS ANIMATOR - No attack unit with amplify and void ability. To lessen possible damage magic in first position

3rd Position

LIFE SAPPER - Attacker on a magic level with life leech ability. I placed it in the 3rd position to accumulate life due to its life leech ability.

4th Position

SOUL STRANGLER - Attacker on a ranged level no additional ability. A high-ranged damage with low-life monsters.

5th Position

CARRION SHADE - Attacker on a melee level with flying ability.

BATTLE HIGHLIGHTS

ROUND 1

• Mantaroth killed Chaos Agent through an Armored Strike. The attack of Armored Strike is equivalent to a melee attack, so Mantaroth received damage due to thorns. Despite Mantaroth having a shield, he still received -2 damage because of the Amplify from Chaos Animator. His armor was damaged during the attack.

• In the second attack of Mantaroth against Chaos Animator, he again received an additional -3 damage from thorns.

ROUND 3

• In round 3, because Life Sapper and Soul Strangler were faster, they were the first to attack Mantaroth, leading to Mantaroth's deathAng .

• My strategy became successful even though my opponent did not use magic. Due to the amplify of Chaos Animator, he strengthened the damage from thorns.

• As much as possible, avoid using melee attacks when the rule is Briar Patch. Even with a shield, using a melee attacker with amplify alongside the opponent can still result in significant damage from thorns.
