Hi fellow Battle Mages!

We are getting Soulbound Rewards cards now for a while and we are leveling those cards to higher and higher levels. It is time to assess those cards and see which ones are the best. I know that these cards are not something that you can just buy. It is hard to obtain those cards, but those cards are shifting the way you are playing this game.

So let's start the list of the best soulbound cards!

5. Ferox Defender

Ferox Defender is a card that I really like but it is the last on this list. Protect is an amazing ability that you can use with Fire Splinter. It gives you some defense and that was really missing for Fire Splinter. Some cards benefit a lot from it as they are not so vulnerable to Sneak or Opportunity attacks.

Ferox Defender can protect cards like Djinn Inferni, Countess Sinash, or Mordeus. At the same time, his Repair ability will make your tank hard to kill. It pairs really well with Grum Flameblade and Forgotten One. Shatter ability is nothing special or amazing but sometimes it can help you a lot. The bad part of this card is that you should play it in the first position and since it does not have Void, Void Armor, or Shiled it could die pretty fast. It is better when melee monsters can attack from anywhere and when paired with Jacek. Overall it is a really good card and I am looking forward to max-out this one.

4. Noa The Just

This card is amazing. Currently, I have level 3 and I can't wait to go up to level 6. It is just soo good. And it is that good because of a couple of reasons. It starts right away on level one with Rust. Rust is an amazing ability especially if you are playing against Water Splinter and that annoying +1 Armor that Kelya provides. Noa can be very good at the first position due to Dodge and Backfire ability.

With 6 Speed Noa is a very fast card and you should add +1 Speed from Kelya there. Sometimes you can add a few more extra speed manipulation cards so his Speed can easily go to 10 plus. Martyr ability is really amazing as it will give adjacent monsters +1 to all stats when Noa dies so it is good to set him up as a Snipe target.

When playing with Possibilis The Wise, you can squeeze him in on the second spot so he can act as a Snipe target but he can get attack from Weapons Training if you play Kulu Mastermind in the third spot. Now if snipers attack him both your tank will get extra stats and your Kulu, and on top of that, he can attack because of the Reach ability that Possibilus the Wise provides. You can play him as a Sneak target as well. There are probably other options as well that I didn't figure out yet but I will with time. The bottom line is that this card is just amazing!

3. Swamp Spitter

The Second Water Splinter card is amazing and it fits so well in the Chaos Legion expansion or better to say it works very well with Kelya and +1 armor. One may say that Merdaali Guardian is maybe an even better card if you want to support your other monsters as it has Tank Heal, Repair, and Strengthen but I have so much more success with Swamp Spitter. Maybe it is easier for me to justify the mana spent when the monster actually does some damage to the enemy team instead of pure support. For only 4 more mana Swamp Spitter is spitting 4 damage while having respectable health and armor which allows him to tank 3 and sometimes even 4 attacks from the enemy team.

Even though the damage that Swamp Spitter is dealing is no joke, as a matter of fact, it is perfect as it is not affected by the enemy's Force Field ability, Repair ability is what makes this monster so valuable. Pair him with Diemonshark, Noa The Just, or anything else it will really increase your defense. On top of that Giant Killer ability is perfect in those high mana matches as it deals double damage to monsters that cost 10 or more mana. The bottom line is that Swamp Spitter is a card that Water Splinter needed. It fits so well in the current Modern format and I can't wait to max out my copy.

2. Ravenhood Warden

I can't hide the fact that Death Splinter is my favorite. And I must admit that it is not the strongest one. It has a really hard time against Water and Life Splinters but maybe that is just me. Ravenhood Warden is here to help us with that as it enables plays that would be that strong without its Protect and Inspire abilities.

Protect gives additional defence to some monsters like Cursed Windeku which is weak to ranged attacks, or to Cabalist, Life Sapper, Venari Bonesmith, Kain Hace, and so on. The real magic is in the Inspire ability as Death Splinter is not that weak if you consider Sneak attack. Now when playing this strategy I use Dragon summoner, Quix the Devious, and also some Dragon cards like Dhampir Infiltrator and Twilight Basilisk. If you add cards like Ureaus, Silent Sha-Vi, and a more expensive Undead Badger you have serious damage even in low mana battles. Ravehood Warden alone gave Death Splinter whole another dimension that was not that viable until now, at least not in the Modern format.

1. Kulu Mastermind

Probably the best Soulbound card at this moment. Not just because of the great abilities that it has but because of synergies with other cards in the Water Splinter. It works great with Deeplurker because you have 2 cards with the Opportunity attack and we all know that it is important to focus on one target. Weapons Training ability works well with Noa The Just and Noa with the Rust ability is amazing for Kulu as it removes that annoying armor that stops 5 damage.

The Shield ability is amazing as it gives him more defense against ranged and melee attacks. Enrage is something that I did not saw yet but it turns Kulu into a real monster. If you take a better look, Kulu Mastermind, Noa The Just, and Swamp Spitter are one big combo that you can use in a lot of battles. I would say that Water Splinter got the best Soulbound rewards but maybe I am a little bit biased.

Let me know what you think. What cards are your picks?
