Hi fellow Battle Mages!

This time we will dive into the mix of Soulbound Summers and Gladiator cards. I will try to rank Splinters from worst to best while considering teams that can be played with its Soulboun summoner. I hope that this will point out the importance of Soulbound rewards and of Gladiator battles that are providing us with amazing cards. I know that it is very hard to obtain those cards but these cards will change the way your decks are performing. Try to grind out these cards now while everyone is sleeping on them and you will be miles ahead when those players wake up.

So let's get started!

6. Dragon Splinter - Helios Matriarch

Helios is in the last spot because of two things. That card is the best Soulbound summoner and there is no debate about it. Actually, it is the only Soulbound summoner that you need. You would not play it only when Dragon Splinter is not available or if you want to play Franz for +1 Armor in the Life team.

Plus one speed is the best ability that soulbound summoners provide and others are not even close. So yes, I am keeping my fingers together for those Helios pulls. I am at level 6 already and I can't wait to max out this card.

So why is then this card at the last spot? Because there are no other cards in Dragon Splinter that could be played with Helios and that is a huge minus. That means you can't play only the Dragon Gladiator team. But we can say that Helios is "out of competition". I think that would be fair!

5. Death Splinter - Octavia Shadowmeld

If we are not counting Helios then Octavia is the weakest Soulbound Summoner. Minus one to health is nothing special and most of the time it won't help that much unless you are going for Redemption play.

Another reason why Deatch Splinter is in the last spot is the lack of really good Gladiator cards that you can see in other Splinters. There is no card like Quora for which you are 100% sure that you want to use it. All Death Gladiator cards are situational. The best card there probably is Liza Fox because you can use it in almost every battle and she will provide great damage. Xulax Nightwing is an amazing card but I would really prefer him with Reach. If you can squeeze in repair monster in the team then it might be better. Whistling Damon could be nice at the higher levels due to Piercing ability and Trap Falloway is amazing but really situational. You could play him in Melee can attack from anywhere but even in that case you would probably use other splinter. Since Death is my favorite splinter I am a little bit disappointed but we must work with what we have.

4. Water Splinter - Pembrook Nymph

Pembrook Nymph does not have anything special. Plus one to health is something that we have seen many times. It is not bad and it is not good but sometimes it can make a difference. To be honest Water Splinter could end up in the third spot instead of Life Splinter but Franz just has way better ability.

Pembrook Nymph.png

The main weapon of Pembrook Nymph and Water Splinter are its monsters. There are a few monsters that have really good synergy. Isgald Worst is the first one. It goes great with Kulu Mastermind and Deeplurker. It makes a killer Opportunity team with Piercing on top. Relenor Cleaver is another great addition with his Reach and Inspire ability. He can play that off-tank position while buffing our Opportunity backline. Furthermore, Alva The Crusher is a good cheap tank with Retaliate and Shield. With 8 health she is not even that weak to magic attacks but it is surely more anti-melee focused. Edith Emberstar is also there to be mentioned even though I am not is biggest fan. Falgulon Reine is interesting as it goes well with Ruler of the Seas and Riverboat Captain where all cards do have magic blast damage.

3. Life Spinter - Franz Ruffmane

Now Franz Ruffmane is second best Soulbound summoner, of course after Helios. That plus one armor gives much-needed protection to the slow life team and enables them to survive long enough to deal some serious damage. That ability is the biggest reason why Life Splinter is so high on this list.

When we talk about monsters we have two really good ones. The first one is Marisol Contuma
which is a real beast with Reach, Inspire, and Trample. With 7 attack she can go through anything, of course, if there is no armor in her way. But someone like Ajax Lightfoot or Time Mage can solve that problem for her and make her even more deadly. Captain Katie is the second beast in that team having 5 magic attack and a Snipe ability. It means she will stack up those kills and get even better with every turn. The rest of the cards are situational but can be quite of use.

2. Fire Splinter - Eternan Brune

When we first saw him who would say that this guy will end up so high on the list. Minus 2 armor does not seem like a big deal but it actually is for a team that you can play using Fire Splinter. Minus armor works so well with melee and ranged attacks in which Fire Splinter thrives.

The real strength of Fire Splinter is in its monsters and I just don't know which one is better. So let's talk about the hidden gem, Krash Wanderford. Four mana, eight speed, Thorns, Return Fire, Swiftness, Dodge. Try to hit this guy. And if you manage to do it somehow, you will get that damage back into your face. Then you have Chimney Wallstop which is an amazing Reach monster. On top of that great damage, he has a Repair ability that works so well with Ferox Defender. And then we can talk about another Opportunity team with Mordeus, Countess Sinash, and Fina Voxom. This team is just amazing and I can't wait to level up these cards to try these combinations. And yes, Orella Abdon is there for something different, a Sneak team, especially in Wild Format with Kobold Miner.

1. Earth Splinter - Lobb Lowland

In the first spot, there is Lobb Lowland and Earth Splinter. Minus speed is not that great but it is not bad either. Speed manipulation is always great and in many cases, it is a difference between victory and defeat. But good ability and a strong team brought Earth Splinter here.

Lobb Lowland.png

We must talk about probably the best Gladiator card, Quora Towershed. An amazing card with magic and melee attack and with Heal which makes her hard to kill. When combined with other support cards it could be a real menace. But Earth might not stop there. Katrebla Gobson is maybe a bit overlooked card that can deal even more damage than Quora. With four damage and Double Strike, it can easily go in high damage numbers. It is even more dangerous when you add Cripple and Snare to that. Bertrol Gobson is an Opportunity monster that you can bring to finish and work that left after Katrebla. Both monsters benefit from Inspire ability which is almost common in Earth Splinter. In the end, we must mention Cutter Brieze, a monster that cost 1 mana, has 3 damage and 6 speed, and has Shatter ability. Perfect if you are playing a low-mana match or if you expect a lot of armor. You can build a very versatile team and that is why Earth Splinter is in the first spot.

Here is the Dragon gladiator "team"; it exists! 😉

yup but it is a "team". Even though, I still think that Dragon summoner is the best Gladiator summoner, and actually the only one that you need. Maybe except Life summoner coz that +1 armor is amazing
