Yesterday I commented on the downsides or some things still to be worked on after the quest potion update.
https://peakd.com/splinterlands/@writhos/here-are-some-issues-with-splinterlands
Here, now I am going to highlight why this was important and had to be done:
Let me clarify, although I criticized this move a bit, I completely stand by it as it had to be done one day or another. The main cause of this change was the price being exploited by bot accounts. People were creating dozens of new accounts if not 100+ and buying quest potion with them. They were able to land 2000+ DEC fairly easily on day 1 or 2.
Current DEC price ~ 0.007$ so 2000 DEC ~ 14$, letting them return their investment in the initial days itself. If this kept on going, the huge amount of DEC after their potions runs out was going to be sold decreasing the price of DEC and breaking game economics.
Hence, to preserve game economics this was to be done.
Even though you made us all happy, you have to go price exploiting QUEST POTIONS.😪
